I qualified on pole which was nice, only my 2nd pole in GT7 ROOZ sunday league. @emmo46 got the better of me in the opening exchanges, really struggled with fresh tyres for some reason across all 3 stints, was much happier when they started to wear a little bit. Honestly pretty uneventful race for me, did close back to emmo in the first stint but never really close enough to engage in a battle. 2nd stint was just cruising out in first place, 3rd stint tried to reel in @doodah27 but he was too quick. No idea what doodah put in his car after the first set of stops, I believe he was around 14 seconds behind me on lap 20 but managed to take 22 seconds out of me throughout the rest of the race to finish 8 seconds in front. Considering I made no major mistakes apart from a couple gravel touches that is a super impressive 2nd half of the race.
A lot changed over the 90 minutes last night. Before the race I was 13 points behind Britz and 9 behind Doodah in the championship with current dropped rounds. Early in the race the placings put me 3 points ahead of Doodah and 1 point ahead of Britz and well in the Championship hunt. By the end I was 24 behind Doodah and 10 Britz. I can't see myself catching them.
Anything can happen Emmo. A bad track / car combo that doesn't suit the racer, accident, technical issues, etc. I've been claiming positions much higher than my speed will allow due to DNF's from accidents, etc.
I've led the last 3 races early but haven't been able to get it done. I hope I can at least snag a win somewhere over the last 3 races.
Quali 5th, got a little tap lap 1 t2, put me on the slidey stuff inside. Gently eased out after watching the field tootle past. Finished 5th , was a fun run. Great job all, hope that win comes your way Emmo.
Hi all, In light of F1 this Sunday clashing with Sunday League, I'm suggesting to all Divisions that you consider starting at least 15 minutes early for those who want to watch F1. This decision will need to be unanimous amongst all those intending on racing.
Oh well, couldn't do a PB in qually so qualified a disappointed 2nd, snatched the lead at turn 1 and set off for the finish line. It lasted a lap and a half before I was in the wall and back to last, what an idiot. Cruised for a couple of laps resisting the urge to quit and throw the PS4 in the bin, I finally calmed down and set about having an enjoyable race any way. Climbed back to 5th having a couple of cut and thrust battles on the way and mostly kept pace with the leader.
@doodah27 has 121 points and it is enough the seal the division championship. Well done doodah , an excellent season.
