Whilst road cars are good fun. I think they are less interesting in a season long event, and are better suited to one off races IMO. Gr4 or Gr3 give best all round results, and if i had to pick one, id say the Alfa Romeo 155 Gr4. The thing is alot of fun, and can be driven stick making it more engaging and challenging for those with clutches and shifters.
Race cars may provide better results, but street cars provide variety from a usually grippier race car and who cares if the results of races are inconsistent. Road cars take a little bit more driving to get the speed and surely that can make the racing more interesting.
I'll withhold my vote until after the update if there is one. Re: above posts. I like road cars and there is a lot of variety in how they drive. Some of the sport mode races with road cars have been some of the more entertaining races I have done. Also I'm thinking about something a bit different - the 6 Rooz GT7 seasons to date have had: 3x Gr4 cars 2x Gr3 cars A 550bhp 4WD VGT
As much as I love the Alfa 155 (and have voted for it), claiming it can be driven with the clutch and shifter is misleading. The car has a sequential gearbox, and CANNOT be put into neutral by 'mis-shifting', or be free-revved in gear by holding the clutch as is possible in road cars with standard H-Pattern gearboxes. Using the shifter instead of paddles will gain zero advantage, and the clutch does nothing.
You are right re, clutch. It isnt needed as the box is sequential. My comment wasnt intended to suggest that it was ever quicker, but that i enjoy the emersion it adds
A new teaser image has appeared, we’re getting a Mazda 3 gr4, new civic type R, and a custom eg civic.
To be honest I was just waiting to see if the Caterham R500 was in there... but I may still change my vote if any of the new cars turn out to be very fun to drive.
