Here we are again at Nurburgring GP/F, this time we will bring you our Division 3 and Division 6 reports. Unfortunately we do not have any reports for Division 4 or 5 but we can give you the results in the final part of the news. Division 3 GRID: BERNSEY001, hosie09, S_CLOSE, Floodsim, X-3vi1m00n, andrew_F_41, whisky_kilo, Stumbles01, Ad2mny, AERO_HDT, Midron18 All drivers got away fairly cleanly. hosie09 dropped back a few spots, while andrew_F_41 moved up 3 spots by the time he got to Mercedes Arena. Midron18 and Ad2mny had a coming together at turn 3 caused by lag spikes. Midron18, unsure of who was to blame, slowed to redress causing AERO_HDT to rear end him, not expecting a rapid deceleration. whisky_kilo touched the rumble strip exiting turn 5 and had a slow motion slide across the track to collide heavily with the barrier. AERO_HDT moved ahead of him as he recovered, and a small slide into Turn 6 on dirty tyres saw him off the track again and down in last place. Midron18 had a spin at Turn 8, ending up very deep in the gravel trap. He rejoined a long way behind the tail runners. hosie09 ran very deep into Kuhmo Kurve, and S_CLOSE took his 4th place at Bit Kurve, with X-3vi1m00n driving past on exit. BERNSEY001 ran too hot into the final chicane, and a slow exit saw him drop back to 4th behind Floodsim, andrew_F_41 and S_CLOSE. S_CLOSE ran a little wide exiting the final corner, fishtailing wildly on the rumble strip and grass, ending with a full 360 barely missing BERNSEY001 and dropping 4 places to 7th. Lap 2, andrew_F_41 touched those dreaded rumble strips on the exit of the Schumacher S's, fishtailing a number of times trying to recover but ending in the barrier. A hasty rejoin caused a large collision with both X-3vi1m00n and Stumbles01, causing them to slow dramatically and severe damage to all 3 cars. andrew_F_41, who had spun again following the collision rejoined in 9th behind AERO_HDT. S_CLOSE and Ad2mny closed quickly on the recovering X-3vi1m00n and Stumbles01 at Kuhmo Kurve, with S_CLOSE giving a limping X-3vi1m00n a few taps exiting Bit Kurve. Ad2mny slowed to avoid running 2 wide at Bit Kurve with Stumbles01, then drove past him on exit. Lap 3, Stumbles01 ran too hot into Kuhmo Kurve, dropping 1 place to AERO_HDT into 8th. X-3vi1m00n ran wide at Coca Cola Curve, Ad2mny pouncing on his 5th place entering the straight. AERO_HDT also managed to pass before he recovered. Lap 4, BERNSEY001 moved back up to 1st at Castrol S, putting Floodsim between himself and hosie09, who was pushing hard for top spot too. A brave move around the outside at Bit Kurve saw hosie09 move up to 2nd. Midron18, who was struggling a long way back from his earlier spins, straight-lined the final chicane in a desperate attempt to latch back on to the back of the pack. After a series of small errors and off track excursions on the following lap, ending in a 180 exiting Bit Kurve, he decided enough was enough and parked up next to the barrier. He took no further part in the race but was in a prime position to witness many more spins at the same corner. AERO_HDT ran a little wide at Turn 6 and ended up backwards in the gravel Lap 5. By the time he recovered he had lost his 6th place to andrew_F_41, then X-3vi1m00n, whisky_kilo and Stumbles01. hosie09 came undone at Kuhmo Kurve, running straight on into the barrier. Floodsim quickly gobbled up his 2nd place, and S_CLOSE scraped past at Bit Kurve putting him in 4th just ahead of Ad2mny. hosie09 got a better run out of the Final Chicane and made his move at the Final Turn. S_CLOSE tried to fight back but found himself on the outside enetering the Castrol S and having to give way. Lap 7, X-3vi1m00n outbraked andrew_F_41 into Castrol S. S_CLOSE and Ad2mny Lap 10, BERNSEY001, Floodsim and hosie09 had the podium positions, and were fairly spaced out with about 4 secs between each of them. S_CLOSE and Ad2mny held 4th and 5th, yo-yo-ing between a 1 and 3 secs gap. X-3vi1m00n and andrew_F_41 were having an epic battle in 6th and 7th place, running neck-a-neck just about everywhere. Stumbles had finally found a way past a wide running whisky_kilo on Lap 9 and with 6th and 7th battling hard and jostling for track position. X-3vi1m00n and andrew_F_41 were bumping and grinding each other through Mercedes Arena, and Stumbles01 got a brilliant run out of Turn 4 but found himself on the outside on approack to turn 6 and running out of track fast. Stumbles was forced to drop back behind and with his dirty tyres had a massive spin at Turn 6, dropping all the way back behind whisky_kilo and AERO_HDT into 10th. Lap 12, hosie09 had a spin at Dunlop, dropping to 5th behind S_CLOSE and Ad2mny. The gap now to 2nd place was over 8 seconds, with another 5 1/2 seconds to 1st place. hosie09 had another spin at the Final Chicane but did not lose any more positions. Unfortunately for S_CLOSE, Lap 13 was his final lap. He DSC'd at Schumacher S from 3rd place. The race held position for a while now, the only real battle being between X-3vi1m00n and andrew_F_41 who just would not quit. Stumbles slowly reeled in AERO_HDT, and passed him as he ran wide at the Final Turn. Lap 15, Floodsim span at Bit Kurve, allowing Ad2mny to close up to within 3 seconds, but he slowly pulled away again. Lap 16, Ad2mny also span at Bit Kurve. He struggled to get back on track and with such a slow entry onto the back straight, he lost 2 positions to hosie09 and andrew_F_41, who had managed to break away slightly from X-3vi1m00n, and slotting in between them. Lap 18, Stumbles01 outbraked whisky_kilo into the Final Chicane, moving up to 7th. Everyone's front tyres were really showing signs of wear, and there just was not enough left to make any real moves without getting desperate. The final laps went by without much more ado, mainly just trying to keep lap times consistent and not lose any more positions. BERNSEY001 had 1st place well and truly wrapped up barring a massive mistake but it didn't come. He took the win with over 20 seconds in hand from Floodsim who finished in a well deserved 2nd place. hosie09 pushed hard all the way to the end, getting back up to within 4 seconds of 2nd in the end. 4th-5th-6th and 7th finished in a procession, whisky_kilo 8 seconds later then AERO_HDT a further 11 seconds back. Congratulations to the podium, and also to hosie09 for his fastest lap, a 2:03.576. Now we will look at the Division 6 report, brought to you by Capatowned. The first round of the GT6 league got underway this week, with the guys in division 6 all having a cracker of a race. There were a few old hands as well as a few new faces. Qualifying went well with Capatowed taking pole position followed Rumbleshorts and bjh1012, then farbs33, colin-50_, clevohead and last but certainly not least Bow2Zodd. Race underway! The first lap featured some great racing with bjh1012 looking a strong 1st during the first lap followed by capatowned and rumbleshorts, however capatowned had a big off on the second last corner of the lap sending him from 2nd to last. Over the next few laps bjh1012 and rumbleshorts continued to pull away from the pack while clevohead was holding 3rd. Capatown over a few laps had gone from last to 4th and and was closing in on 3rd fast. Capatowned's 1st lap crash. At the end of the 4th lap bjh1012 unfortunately had a spin on the last corner giving the lead to rumbleshorts, 2nd to clevohead and capatowned coming from nowhere to take 3rd. Rumbleshorts at this point had a commanding lead over the pack. Battle for 2nd. Close racing during the early stages of the race. Over the next few laps capatowned broke away from the pack into 2nd and began trying to chase down rumbleshorts who was driving superbly and making minimal errors. Clevohead and colin-50_ were now in 3rd and 4th respectively and after a few mistakes from bjh1012 saw him drop back to 5th position followed by farbs33 and bow2zodd. Winner of the day rumbleshorts, who was simply too fast and consistent the whole race. The rest of the race saw close action from clevohead, colin-50_ and bjh1012 all battling out for 3rd position, with capatowned ahead of the pack in 2nd. However the day firmly belonged to rumbleshorts who dominated the race with consistent fast racing to take 1st place. Nice report Capatowned.
