gtleagueoz is to get a special mention on the simracingtonight YouTube show. In their latest show they asked for series organisers to send in info on the race series they are running to talk about on their show. I sent an email last night and got a response this morning. They are keen to mention our series on the show and Daren Gangi is even keen to have a run in one of our races as a guest appearance. We need to do a summery write up of our series including race format, race times and length etc, how it started and Who was instrumental in developing it into the most successful series it is, all that sort of stuff but not too long winded so as to fit in their show. Carn you did a great write up on how it all began do you think you could do something for this asap? Im glad to help but think it needs someone like you or the other originals to do it justice, its going to be broadcast on a very popular show viewed by thousands around the world, just to add a bit of pressure.

Thanks for the email.. Im glad it was long winded, it educated me on your series which looks very organized and wed love to mention you guys. We cant do commentary for the races, but can mention the series.. For post race reports, well only use real names so that it sounds more like a real life race report..

We can mention the series though, what you guys have going on, etc.. If you can give me a break down of the series that run and when, well mention you guys on the show. I see the MCLaren series and the Super GT series.

I know GT5 is not classed as a real sim racer and I think it is a bit off the mark as one too but it does offer some good close racing and thats what we love about racing games and the ability to run races and championship with real people from across the world. Ive met a lot of like minded people from all walks of life form all parts of the world in the past 4 years. Im a 47 year old broken down crock with a bad back who thought I could never feel the excitement of reel racing I have dreamt of form my earliest days racing the Honda 90 aroud the hay stack. Sim racing is so good and its getting better and better every year. Cant afford a good Pc to do Iracing yet but working on it.
Keep up the good work evolving your show it has so much potential on top of what is already fantastic viewing. Bye all from your M8 way down the street In Aus

You guys are racing, in a clean environment with whats probably the best console racer out in regards to physics and force feedback. They also have the best tracks. GT5 is classed as a real sim racer in my book (dont listen to the sim snobs). You guys are racing simulated events and that sounds like sim racing to me .

The PC is definitely a step up and youll love it when you get there.. but.. enjoy the GT5 racing cause its pretty awesome.. Matter of fact, Id love to join you guys sometime if you can squeeze me in and my connection is ok.. I have yet to do any quality multiplayer on GT5.

GT League Oz

gtleagueoz is a great little Aussie/NZ Gt5 league race series run with the professionalism on a par with that of a real life race series. It was born out of whirlpool.net.au forums when GT5 was released, in its 2nd season it hosted 70 drivers in 6 divisions. The main league is run on Sunday nights; all drivers are in the same car which is selected from the recommended garage at the beginning of each series. A selection of 7 tracks to be run over 7 weeks are carefully chosen and tested to best highlight the traits of the selected car and make the races as exciting and challenging as possible and to offer a close race experience. The league is constantly evolving, with each season introducing some new regulations to keep it interesting and challenging. Tiered tires came in this season, drivers are assigned to a division with fellow drivers of equal race experience and ability; the top tier drivers are put on a lesser compound tyre, and tyre selection is stepped up as you go down through the divisions. Our division one arguably boasts some of the best drivers Australia and New Zealand have to offer. Some viewers may have seen our division one past champions in Taken season 1 and Beau261 season 2 & 3 around.
Each division has a room host captain who manages each race room. The hosts responsibilities are to set up room, start qualifying and race, they also save replay for post race review and a pictorial write up is done and posted in the ranking section for that division. Host can also send replay to the race review committee if there are any race incidents, but I must say this rarely happens. All a driver has to do is turn up on time and enjoy one of the best racing experiences they will get on GT5.
Members also organise special events and tuner races so if you dont have the time to commit to a full race series you can still participate in any of these events you may be interested in.
Special Mention to the series and web site creators: Trent Whelan and Justin Malak and the administrators who helped sort it all out Ben Sun and Dustin Bartlett, and all the others currently working behind the scenes to keep it evolving, they put a lot of thought and effort into creating and running this series and from all account its very much appreciated by all the members. Also the drivers them selves are a big part of making this a successful championship, all the members have the utmost respect for their fellow drivers and it shows every race.

Not sure yet, not sure they will dedicate to much time to it on the show, probably just mention it and the type of racing we do and when its on and the web site, they will probably put this info on their web site too. Darin was interested to see how the championship runs and was interested in having a race with us some day. Waiting to see if he can make time for that, i think it whould be good for him to have a run with us, he said he hasn't had a good online session on Gt5 and thats something we can offer.

WOW!! Insidesimracingtv did an excellent job (as they do with all their reviews and stories) in summing up our championship and community, pretty wrapped in the way they presented it too, how good are these guys and gals whata a great show.
Thats great castro, we running some adds for those guys? Should set up a reviewed products page where the best (gtleagueOz drivers) can test the best, wheels, peddles, driving seats, mikes etc they are using. Its good to get an expert opinion on the feel of the product and put into perspective of wether it effected their lap times or just helped with consistency, we all want to use what the best are using. Azza got the fanatic 1 and upgraded it to GT2, he can tell us how he did it and how easily it was done, and itd be good to have you and him do a review on how good it is for GT5.
