Ah, the Fooies! I remember buying one of those computer mags that started coming out with demo CDs, and it had one of their first songs on there.. Big Me. That's when I fell in love with the Foo Fighters... and Dave Grohl is one of my favourite musicians.
Errrrm....nice collection there. The like button has copped a flogging here. Live bands. All my concerts were in the 90's Saw Bon Jovi in 92 I think when they still played a lot of their older stuff, but from right up the back at Brisbane entertainment centre. They were dots, and even had to squint to see the TV's. Saw them a few years later at (oh what was that stadium called near the QE II centre in Brisbane? Oh well). We were right up front for that one, and I mean no-one in front of us and the stage. Front row centre of the mosh pit. Saw Jimmy Barnes that day too, and Nanu's band (Keanu Reeves) but he just played bass. Saw White Snake for free at Festival hall in Brisbane. Right up front again. Only knew one of their songs and I can't for the life of me remember what it was either. Had some nasty chemicals on a little square of paper that had a butterfly printed on it and saw Pearl Jam once again at Festival hall right up front. They wanted someone to play one of their songs on guitar halfway through and I hollered and hollered (had Do the Evolution down-pat) but they picked some ham fisted amateur who butchered betterman. Did my first crowd surf there too. I thought I had a good view from the front but up on top it's like a sea of shadows under you and you're the only one there watching. Saw the Foos at Festival hall too. Dave came out with short hair and I almost didn't recognise him. Then he started singing and joking about and there he was. That's when they had that new blonde haired surfer looking drummer. That was farkn awesome that one. We were going to see Everclear and we got to the doors on the night but there was no one there. Someone threw a bottle at the stage at the big day out day before and hit the lead singer. They cancelled the rest of the Aussie tour. Shame. I know there's a couple more but they're lost in the haze of alcohol and toxins. Great thread BTW .
Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch Never actually watched the video before... haha So weird seeing MW singing in a music video
My playlists have literally everything on them. There's not much I won't listen to. My favourite piece of music would definitely be the first guitar solo in November Rain. It's only about 40 seconds, but for those 40 seconds, absolutely nothing else exists...absolutely spine tingling stuff. Even better on the Live Era album. I really like Justice, they've got some mad tunes... Could stay here all day listing songs I like!!
Just to be different, here's some new music i am really enjoying at the moment. Love the instrumental parts. Klingande - Jubel
Yep I agree with that one. The sax is old school somehow works. Unfortunately they are flogging the crap out of it in an ad campaign on foxtel/tbox and will be annoying in a relatively short period of time for me .
Tool ROCKS!! My mostest favourite-ist game song for me was the intro music for Road Rash 3d. Soundgarden - Rusty Cage. Love that song. If you havent heard of it you gotta watch this:
Anyone watch concert DVDs/blu-rays? A couple of my favourites are Eagles - Hell Freezes Over and Fleetwood Mac - the Dance
This thread almost crashed my computer with the amount of Youtube, lol. Great, I now I have to listen to pat65's list of songs to see which ones to grab... I saw Gary Numan's cars, so I'm sold on his taste. =P On that topic though, I tried having my collection on GT6, but it just doesn't work because some songs (most songs actually) just don't work on a racing / driving game. I now restrict my GT6 playlist to House, Electro, Drum & Bass and Trance. Dat sweet, sweet trance...
