hi ROOZ GT6 community. I was thinking about a gap filler event after the festive season and the one thing I haven't done is put the XR8 through its paces on anything other than Bathurst basically. So I thought about an event that will run with the XR8 Supercar in standard trim (oil and rigidity allowed) on what. I think are the top 5 tracks - 1. SPA - 14 Laps 2. Sierra- 2 laps 3. Nordschliefe - 2 laps 4. R246 Tokyo - 15 laps 5. Bathurst - 12 laps Event should probably go for roughly 1 hour 45 but allow 2 hours for the night. Rules - 1. no tuning (oil and rigidity allowed). 2. Tyres - Racing Soft Racing Hards or Racing inter's and tyre wear is on normal.- tyre change can be same compound. 3. Damage Light. 4. Weather.....thinking not but might be open to low setting of say 15% probability with only 20% surface water at each track 5. Race time : set at 11:00 am at each track. 5. Time progression - 1. 6 Only aid allowed is ABS. 7. Qualifying - 1 outlap plus 1 timed lap for each track for starting order. Date & Time:: to be determined by the grand pooh bar (otherwise known as Hatfield who sorts this stuff out ) but I am thinking after New Year and maybe even a Thursday/Friday night or usual Sunday night......of course all subject to member interest..... EXPRESS INTEREST NOW...................
Weather track wetness can only be fixed to a specific % or not. So you can't run weather probability with a fixed max to track % as for the date, up to you... but Sundays are booked full I believe... Thursdays F1 is run, but a loose Friday may do just fine
That's quite a lot of racing to squeeze into one night. Maybe try splitting it up or trim the race distances?
Yeah great idea to run the only "Aussie" car for a night. Just can't refuse. I generally prefer racing without tuning, but the XR8 is similar to a tractor when not tuned. Also the XR8 tuned or not, refuses to stop or turn on any tyre other than racing softs. I have a couple of good tunes (even if we run without tuning) for the XR8 that i am more than willing to share.
These are the two XR8 tunes. There is very little between them time wise, with both having strong points. Aggressive. 69/69 16.01/19.99 3/3 4/4 7/7 0/0 -0.30/-0.40 5/5 5/15/5 DF: 410/530 Smooth 90/75 16.01/19.99 1/1 1/1 5/7 0/0 -0.25/-0.65 6/9 5/12/5 DF: 500/530 Gearbox for both tunes: Final gear to 3.225 Max Speed to 200 1- 4.849 2- 3.699 3- 3.069 4- 2.449 5- 1.999 6- 1.721 Final gear to 2000.
Ok gang following Hat's advice we will look to make this a Friday night event. Bryan suggested all races on one night might be too much so I would be happy to split it over two nights if the majority prefer.. I personally would rather do that than shorten race distances. Re the actual Friday night/s...are people back by second week of Jan or should we aim for 3rd week (and then 4th week if two nights is the group decision)?
3rd week of Jan sounds good, esp the full distances & splitting it over 2 nights. Lookn fwd to trying the specs Apex posted around Spa.... & the Schleife! Happy holidays all
You were one of the suspects I had in mind APEX...LOL..the idea of the tyre choice is to throw a bit of strategy in. as I think tyre wear with race duration will be a big factor so entrants can roll the dice on tyre endurance or play safe with pitting and tyre change. I have done no testing so my comments are assumptive
Ok so it looks like Friday nights from 3rd week of Jan - over 2 nights....so Firday 20th January and Friday 27th January.. Will need Hat and Emmo to confirm in calendar...so keep your eye. On the thread folks..
@apex2691's settings are sublime! if you haven't tried them yet, do! i hadn't driven this car before so was curious about the weight mostly but with both of these settings, you can exploit this car a lot. i was so impressed by how driveable it is. maybe we could use these settings for the different tracks? i do love the tyre options tho @BMWF30328, tyre strategem always makes things interesting
