R4. REDBULL RING - SPRINT ROUND - 1x 16 lap / 1x 17 lap race (includes formation lap) - 10/6/17 Qualifying @ 3pm - Light Cloud Race Start @ 4pm - Light cloud / clear - Time progression : REAL - Compulsory pit stop : NO - Fuel : OFF - TYRE WEAR : Accelerated - Weather progression : Sync to race - Time progression : Real time ok Guys....Some great racing again last week....very few issues which was good to see...... PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU READ UP ON THE REGS AND PROCEDURE FOR THIS WEEKS SPRINT ROUND..... REVERSE GRID PROCEDURE : Race 1 will run as normal.... SOMEONE NEEDS TO RECORD FINISHING POSITIONS... Drivers who DSC or DNF from race 1 can race in the second race .... FULL POINTS RACE 2 : 1 lap will be added as a 'FORMATION LAP" - The race will start on green (dont get a drive through !) and all drivers will STOP BEFORE TURN 1 and form up in the reverse order of race 1 - Once in the correct order, the lead driver will lead the field round the track at about 100kph until they reach TURN 7. - from TURN 7 the lead car will slow to 80KLMS and then the race will start when drivers PASS TURN 9 ONTO THE FRONT STRAIGHT - Please stay close to the car in front, about 1 car length. - NO PASSING UNTIL THE START FINISH LINE - HALF POINTS POINTS : Race 1 is full points, second race is half points....these points are added at the end to get overall points winners.... Fastest lap and pole are awarded at the end as normal....In the event of of drivers finishing on equal points fastest lap from both races will determine the winner. (from memory that's how we have done it in the past ) TURN 1 LAP 1 : Can be tricky here if you dont slow early enough....The brake marker for front half of field will be just before the 100 m board, and about the 200m board for the back half ... Unfortunately we didnt get through lap 1 clean last week so no beer for anyone ! DJ was happy !! TRACK LIMITS : As we are running with 'track limit penalties" OFF, we will run with our usual Raceonoz track limit regulations. This means you MUST have at least 2 wheels on the ripple strip OR white line that defines the track limit. There are a couple of spots here where running wide does give an advantage.... Making a mistake or 2 is expected, however doing it continually to gain advantage WILL RESULT in a post race penalty. - Turn 1, 3, 8 and 9 are ALL able to be run wide... More than a few times in a row is not a mistake ! Please dont run wide on purpose...... I did watch the div 2 room last week and driving standards were very good..... CONTACT : Is to be avoided at all times..... If you rear end someone and gain an advantage, YOU ARE EXPECTED to give the spot back. Side by side 'rubbing' is racing, within reason, but all drivers are expected to give racing room. - Turn 1, 2 and Turn 3 are all big stops. Its easy to make contact if you arent awake..... its also easy to get a run with a clean exit - Turns 8 and 9 can be tricky, but be aware of where people in front are braking in relation to you and set up a pass when you work it out These are all points i have noticed its easy to run up the backside of someone..be wary if you are in a train of 3 or 4 cars and brake little earlier.... COMPULSORY PIT STOP : N/A PIT ENTRY / EXIT : N/A BLUE FLAGS : There has been a few instances where lapped cars are not giving clear passage to the race leaders. Please observe blue flags, and move out of the way of faster cars if you are being lapped. You should be aware of the leaders coming up on you, and move out of the way as soon as possible. Best to get off the race line, and with a small lift let them go, so you can continue the fight with those you are running with. Failure to observe blue flags WILL result in a penalty. That said, race leaders cant barge their way past either. Please use your brains here, and give room when you can ! RACE RESTARTS : This has popped up a couple of times this season. Our goal is to 'try' to give everyone a fair chance of racing.....The room host "MAY" decide that if there is a crash due to a race start incident, mass DSC or an obvious issue. Its a balancing act for all involved, trying to get everyone a race, remembering that every restart is another 10 or 15 mins.....cann be frustrating, especially if youve gone from 10th to 2nd but please look at the bigger picture ! STEWARDS GROUP AND RACE PROTESTS : This season we will again be using the stewards group for racing infringements and protests. The specific Stewards group thread will have all the info in it, regarding rules and regs, and the protest procedure. Please read it and understand how it works...we are still to link in the collated rules and regs.........You have until MIDNIGHT MONDAY night following the race to submit a protest, and MIDNIGHT TUESDAY night for your evidence to be submitted (ie video). http://www.raceonoz.com/forums/index.php?threads/stewards-group-official-thread.2593/ SAVE YOUR REPLAY : If the room host can ask all drivers to save their replay would be good before exiting the room.....once they exit out and the option goes, it cant be retrieved ! I believe some people havent been able to save, this may mean you need to clear out some space from your replay library...
And.....i should be ok to race this week....will just have to move one of the other TVs to my rig......
Pretty sure fastest laps were taken from race one in event of a tie? I vaguely remember this happening once before...
Hi all, Just a reminder, when filing a protest, you are to add only the following members to the inbox: @Ad2mny @JonoStan96 @garyw61 @Viperzed Please do not add other members to the inbox or the person you are filing a protest against. GTS and PCARS 2 drivers may add the room captain if you do not have access to a saved replay. Cheers, Stewards Group.
