Thanks guys had fun. Qually blew me away as i had my first spin in the car tonight. Got swamped in the first lap due to piss poor driving and a bit of bad luck to be last. But had a blast fighting back through the field. Hope to race again asap if there is room. Same old same old with beau, but Bryan is now .... Again thanks
Second race in a row I've had to handle immense pressure from behind, this time from @xlxy90. Nailed qualifying, which is unusual for me. Had to adjust my pit strategy to avoid the midfield traffic, which worked perfectly. All in all a great way to finish my 100th ROOZ league round!
My understanding of the invisible cars in GTS, is both drivers lose sight of each other and shows the other leaving the room. They can no longer be seen on track, nor in chat. So invisible cars isn't as race destroying as it once was, unless you happen to be a third party reacting to 2 invisible cars phasing through one-another. Also @Hatfield sounds a lot like what happened with @Captain_Risky_21 and myself in the Mustang season here, on his end there are easy 2 feet between us and on my end I got shoved off the road twice. Immodium will help with that.
Last I saw of it, Bryan's got this smooth technique that doesn't really lean on the car in any particular phase too hard, his tyre wear estimations were always lower leading to more aggressive strategies and it seems to be paying off this season with the freedoms afforded in the rules.
It also means I tend not to push them hard enough at sprint rounds, which means I tend to do worse at sprints than other rounds. You'll see in a week's time...
Left to rue what could have been a solid finish... again. Qualifying was disappointing as I was 3 tenths up on my final run when I ran off the track at the final corner. The first stint was great, kept it clean and made up a couple of spots and ended up sitting comfortably in 4th. Risky got the jump on me in the pits but I ended up getting back past him as we battled on. I thought I was in the clear as I made a small margin back to Risky only for me to put a wheel off at T1 and a big tankslapper was the result. I couldn’t save it and I ended up off the track at T2. I lost about 10-15 seconds in that mistake alone, but what followed was being stuck in group battles until the end of the race, costing me more and more time. Groover was in his groove (pardon the pun) and Apex had some speed and made it difficult to get away. Motors fought hard but ended up being a Mustang and headed for the crowd. 8th place again, same as last week. Next week might break the cycle, we’ll see. Thanks lads.
