Where did you get to play it? The gamepad filtering is being tweaked daily, sometimes it's better and sometimes it's more 'experimental' Of course you have to have the right handling mode and some other options set correctly too.
There were 4 demos of it at the EB Expo, and I HATE the Xbox One controller so it felt horrific initially. But the extent of the physics and detail is unlike anything I've ever seen before...
Ah nice. Yeah there is something almost magical about the physics - I've played every sim around besides rF2 and they're just not the same. And to be backed up by racing drivers and comparison videos just makes it all the more special. It's just this console wheel support fiasco that sucks. Supposedly it's to stop those custom USB devices made that allowed pirate games to be played.

reading all the awesome details is making the wait excruciating http://www.wmdportal.com/projectnews/inside-project-cars-seta-tire-model/
Delayed until 17 March 2015, devo!!! http://www.thesixthaxis.com/2014/10/17/rumour-project-cars-seems-to-have-been-delayed-to-2015/
I'll pass that onto Jan for you, but all he's in charge of is vehicle models. Delay stings but it is for the best. Also Aston weren't happy with the 'turboduck' on my livery because the car is NA, so it hopefully gives me time to move the livery to another car. Really not happy with them over this.
'All video from gameplay'... I'm in love PD better have some pretty amazing tricks up its sleeve to trump project
