I'm really enjoying the mustang on the NTM. You really have to use the brake (in light applications) to get the nose of the car turned in, instead of the throttle steering method on the OTM. It feels much more familiar and intuitive to real life experience. You can still mash the throttle if you want, and this car becomes a drift beast... but to go fast you have to have fine throttle control, not so much to keep the back in check (as with the v8 SC) but to keep grip on the front until you've finished turning the car towards the cornes exit.
Hi Beau good to see you still poking your head in. Where's Dusty at? In the Oval series - Legends Advanced Rookie are running a road circuit (Lime Rock) this week... might have to get in on that
Check me out! 2nd best on the World Records for qual time in the Legend at Lime Rock, beating Mad by 0.002s and also ahead of Gisbergen! That's a first! http://members.iracing.com/membersite/member/worldrecords.jsp - sort by qual time... Got a slightly better time in a TT wooo 58's! Although now I've mentioned it you'll probably go and better your time eh mad? Everybody SHHHHHH
Well I've been bumped down the list to 6th on quali time... BUT that TT link above has secured my first World Record Title for the Time Trial at Lime Rock Wooooooo! And by a healthy 0.4s too. Hells yea go me! In case it's fleeting, here's a screen capture
Yo guys, I'm back from 3 weeks of R&R! Got my wheel fixed whilst I was away (shifter broke/fell off :/) and ready to go. Due to my holidays and not racing in a few of the first Star Mazda races there was no way I was going to make the minimum 8 races. However ill be giving the TT championship a red hot go.
Cheers mate.... bit of explaination for you non-iracers... a TT time in the records section is actually the average of a number of laps clean laps, in this case 8 laps with no two wheels ever offtrack or spins etc. So that's a 0.4s gap, for an 8 lap average, not a single lap. My best lap in that session was actually about 58.9 which would not be a world record in itself (see the link in the post above the pic for guys with iRacing accounts) But still pretty stoked.. I mean that 8 lap average is as good as my single best race lap which you can see in one of the other columns. (race servers being US with typically 300ping for me in this series doen't help)
Arrrgh ok Koastr i was wondering about all the times up on the spread sheet... look stranger at first but it makes sense.. I THINK!!! :/
I was very nearly going to subscribe to iracing a while ago until I realised how much it was going to cost for the v8 series...that sort of put me off it then.
Cmon its not that expensive....just buy some content to get you started and go from there, then in a couple of months time buy some more. Besides i would spend more money each year on PS3 games
