Don't have the time to play around with real cars on the track anymore so video games are a decent alternative
Did not know you lived in Jakarta, Indonesia Mr Corthalis? Or does the W.A. government let you register "your cars" there?
Current car: I believe it's in the game but haven't managed to find it yet... I am getting a new car soon though, considering a E46 325Ci or a Golf GTI. OR Choices, choices... any opinions?
If you can bump your budget up a bit, get an E46 M3 . Seen a few really good examples for only 40k recently. Pretty good cars for the money even though they have all torque. Between the two above the Golf's definitely a lot more fun. 325 just has no punch whatsoever.
Also you can just whack a re-tune on the GTI and get another 30kw or something. Check out GIAC, APR, there are heaps of companies that do them.
It also depends on the kind of personality you are? if looks are most important to you, then Im sure most would agree the BMW is great even though the Golf is far from ugly, nice as well. Power wise, except for the M3, every BMW I have driven goes like a rubbish bin in comparison to a car similiar in price. Sorry guys, I love M powered beamers, all the other ones are just a big waste of cash, no value at all. Golf GTI is a proven hot hatch and definetely is value for money.
Cool thread. 67 HR Holden, currently restoring. Mrs has a 2009 Ford Territory. Looking for a new daily driver????
If I could bump up the price I'd save to $50,000 and get a '99/'00 911 Carrera I absolutely love the looks of the E46 and it is a V6 so it's not going to be a cat, but then again not as fun as the GTI. Also in contention is an Evo 8 but I'm not too sure how comfortable/efficient it will be for every day driving...
While I'm a Porsche lover myself, I just hate the headlights on the first generation 996s. E46 is quite the looker though (my personal favourite 3 series) but yeah, even the M3 is fairly gutless. The Evo 8 is a great car if you're looking for fun factor and very easy to get more power if you decide on some modding further down the track. For a daily driver though, I think it's hard to beat the Golf GTI at that price range, especially with DSG.
I've been trying for years to get my hands on a 22B, but they are super rare and no one wants to sell them! Might just find a decent 2 door STi and throw some cash at the engine bay... Or I could just win lotto and buy that Ferrari 458...
1989 Calais 5 litre. Got a 1978 Torana 202 Sl hatch back in the shed waiting for me to earn a little money to get it back to full original condition.
A Ford Falcon AU series3. Traded using my beloved BMW E30. Got a CRG Yamaha 100J Go kart in the shed. Not driven daily. Still haven't seen the AU supercar in GT5 dealership, but will get it as soon as I see it.
wow, a car enthusiast with an AU falcon. That is definitely a first! Also I have to wonder why they chose the AU Falcon Supercar for GT5, I mean firstly it's over 10 years old now, and this is the model that nearly sent the Falcon into extinction due to it's errr 'controversial' design. Why didn't they choose a newer Supercar, like the iconic Vodaphone Falcon from a few years back instead. Or even just the latest models from FPV & HSV. Really is an oversight imo. I mean, everyone watches top gear worldwide, and they are more than aware of the current available Australian muscle cars. Seriously. On another funny note about this car, the AU futura was actually the car i did my first ever reverse park in, after me and Seido463 snuck it out (mums company car) for a joy ride lol! (this was a good 10 years ago)
