    Who's interested,
Corvette C6R races on the Aussie tracks starting next week, I would like to run it on a Saturday night if possible and suitable for everyone.

    Chev Corvette C6R Beta4, 91.9Mb

    TRACK LINKS:
Oran Park, 17.6Mb, very basic conversion.
Longford 67 v0.9.8, 152.9Mb, awesome track in any car.
    Eastern Creek v0.9.1, 53Mb
Sandown v0.0.8, 10.9Mb very raw and basic but it drives well.
Bathurst v0.2, 34Mb can be a little bumpy where it shouldn't be and it WAAAY too wide, but it's still fun to drive.
    Phillip Island v1.0, 27.9Mb
Albert Park v0.7, 78.67Mb updated 5Aug, this is NOT the same track we have been running on, but due to the fact this one is being updated I thought it would be worth changing. This is a Driving Italia D/L so you may need to register to download the track.
EDIT: The Albert Park v0.7 above is not as good graphically nor is it as immersive as the Albert Park we currently race on, so it's NOT a necessity as we will use the existing Albert Pk in the C6R race.
2nd EDIT: We have a problem with the timer in the Bathurst v0.2 above, so we have found a new Bathurst D/L HERE not quite as nice as the v0.2 or as wide, lol, but the timer works.
    Cheers.

Speaking of Albert park v0.7...........dont bother with it at this point...Sorry Dave :p, I just jumped on to see how the track was and see if my back was cool in the rig, which it is :D which is good news, but the 0.7 version is :poop: compared to the Albert park
we have run previously. So save your bandwidth & quota till this release of Melbourne/Albert Pk gets better.

    Cheers

i finally got around to putting on the ford escort mk II. i remember you saying it wasn't driveable a real dog.But the version i have is pretty good, great even.Handles just like i would imagine it would light nimble with a hint of understeer if you push it too hot in the corners and oversteer if you smack it at corner exit. The model i tried was the S1 version, didn't touch stock or rally version yet.but S1 feels good :D maybe i got a different version or updated version or something don't remember where it came from lol but it's event worthy for sure.Sounds are dull but all ac cars are till FMOD comes out :)

Yep I know the one you have Tovey, the one I got was the MOMS twin turbo version.......total crap as was overpowered and ridiculous to drive. Not sure if I can find it again as I deleted the bookmark i had.
Might need you to find a link if possible, if not, anyway you can get it hosted for downloading by chance?

    Cheers

    Chev Corvette C6R Oz series
Starts 27th Sept to 8th Nov.

    Tracks:
    Longford 67, Sat 27th Sept.
    Philip Island, Sat 4th Oct.
    Oran park, Sat 11th Oct.
Bathurst, (Enduro TBA) Sat 18th Oct.
    Eastern Creek, Sat 25th Oct.
Albert Park (again) Sat 1st Nov.
    Sandown, Sat 8th Nov.

All tracks and the mod download links are in post #301 above

Guys, would like some input please.
So we can accommodate all members interested in this series, I was wondering if there was a possibility that we could run this as a Saturday afternoon event, please post your thoughts as I would like to be able to get everyone who's keen to participate on the grid for this series, I'm hopeful a Saturday arvo event might achieve this :).

Also I would like to know, how many laps per race would you all feel is suitable, would you prefer we do a single race (20-25laps) or 2 sprints (12-15laps), as for the enduro @ Bathurst I was contemplating around a 30 lap event, that's about a 70min race, which would have to involve an ingenious pit-stop on our behalf  seeing as pit-stops aren't implemented yet.

Also, we may be able to run custom liveries, which can be designated to a particular drivers Steam GUID, I will look into this over the next few days, let you know whats what .

If anyone has any thoughts or suggestions on this series or any other ideas, please "spill ya guts" I need all the assist I can get to keep these races fun for us all :)

    Cheers

I know it is awesome, one of my customers owns the majority of land that the remains of the track is on, I was hanging out for GT6 GPS track editor and was going to map it and recreate in GT6 :) My boss used to work on cars that ran in the race, he worked for Garry Cooper @ Elfin for a lot of years.

Here is a cool little vid of the "Long Weekend"

Here is a Yotube video (from the RaceDepartment download page for the track - its not my video).
I have downloaded the track but haven't driven on it yet.
    Looks like a fun track!

    Chev Corvette C6R Oz series

Depending on the time Sat arvo might work but Sat evening would probably be safer (as we may go out during the day and might not back in time, where I am usually home most Sat nights) - but that's just my preference.

I can confirm now that I won't be available for the Sat 18 and Sat 25 Oct (as I will be away on holidays).
If possible, could the enduro be the last race (so I don't miss it???) - if not no big deal, just thought I'd ask ;)

I'm happy with either, though 2 shorter races could perhaps be run in the same fashion as the ROOZ sprint rounds where the 2nd race is a reverse grid? Not sure how we'd achieve this on AC but there must be a way. Even if we set a short qual time and then got into position and did a parade lap to set a fastest - slowest qual time.

As for the enduro, how would we accomplish a pitstop when it is not yet setup in-game?

Am MOST DEFINITELY interested in this. I think I am more addicted to custom liveries than the driving part of the game LOL....though that may change :D
I am happy to provide a download to my livery and if anyone needs a hand in how to customise their own livery let me know.
Otherwise, this thread is where I found all the info I needed:

Yeah, I thought an arvo event would be difficult to pull off, just trying to find a time that suits everyone :) Also I dont have a problem with running the enduro event last.

There's no facility in AC's server to set grids manually, that I know of, but doesn't mean we cant stage quali times as you say, to obtain a reverse grid.

It would need us all to be honest for a start, but basically, you go into the pits, pull into a pit box, hit ESC on ya K/B, click on "enter pits", make any changes you want, or, "enter pits" which will give fresh tyres and refuel, then click on "drive" if you don't wish to make changes, pedal it out the pits and rejoin the race

I'm keen to do a skin, just haven't had much time lately  I have the skinning thread bookmarked:D, the good thing is we can designate any skin to any GUID so we can use downloaded skins too. I will look into this later today :)

    Cheers

If it makes it easier, and everyone is keen, I am happy to make a custom livery using the same basic design for each driver???

I would be happy for each person to choose the base colour, accent colour, number and nickname to be shown and I could create a custom livery for the series (example below)

Just a thought, but now I have setup my template it is pretty straightforward to customise colours and names as required. :)

Unfortunately Tovey from what I can find the files used for the lights are different for every car so its not as straightforward as looking for one file named a certain way. I had a quick look through the various C6R template files but couldn't find it. I also had a look through the dds files and didnt notice it either so I'm not sure where it might be for the C6R.....but if you do end up finding it I'd be interested also.

If I happen to find it I'll be sure to let you know.
