Finally a P2 finish.....it's been a while
Well what can I say. A great close qualifying, just grabbing pole position, second on for the season. The race I was sweating about my race pace not being as strong as qualifying pace. Start was decent, definitely not the best in the field, but good enough to hold the lead. Had a bit of a lead exiting the Arena section of the track. With people battling away hard for majority of the race, was able to pull out a comfortable gap. Claiming my first ever win on RaceOnOz. Only my third race with you guys. Huge thanks to the people doing things in the background. The league wouldn’t be half as good without the effort. The rest of the Div 2 drivers for great racing.
Got tangled up with @Jim_aka_The_Man in the first turn, but worked my way through the field back up to 4th place in the end. Was not prepared for how rear-heavy the car was in the early stages with the fuel so high, certainly made it interesting!! Well done @KerbRider22 , @Bounty05 and @MarkH for the podium finishes.
Round 2 is up:
I'm going to miss Round 4 at Brno fellas, going away for a few days over that weekend.
I may be out for a while guys. Done my knee good and waiting for surgery on 22nd August. I am having a Cortisone jab today to see if I can get back on my feet.
No good mate hope it's a speedy recovery
Well that plain sucks mate. Is that what happened to you last weekend?
what can't you do? accel or brake?
mate, thats no good.... what you do to it ?
Driver briefing is up for round 3 at Spa guys.
Please have a read re track limits and regs....
Nah happened earlier this week
Either. It’s much more complicated than that. My rig is downstairs and can’t even do a single step let alone a flight of stairs!
They reckon a chunk of cartilage has broken off and jammed itself in there somewhere
Sit on your bum and slide down. Figure out how to get back up after the race
Wishing you a speedy recovery.
I'm looking doubtful for tomorrow, I was supposed to board out and set up the new van for work on Monday today but the wind made it impossible on my own so now tomorrow is looking like a full on day/evenings work. If by some miracle I get it done I'll get on but I've had barely any practice!
Hang on... people practice?
Just the ones without skill like myself.
Hahaha, seems to be less and less time to get any practice in lately.
I’m fortunate enough to have had a misguided youth, so I tend to know a lot of tracks already and only takes a couple of laps to find a decent groove. Sometimes it works, others not so much.
