From the practice races we had last night, your pace will be dictated by the pack around you unless you get spat out the back or make a gap out in front into clear air. Otherwise it is close hard racing, its not easy to pass. And if you want a challenge Pykey, Dan Holland was doing 29's last night Even the other aliens in the room thought he should have his own division - LOL
I wasn't in the room long but the only 29's I seen Dan do were done on just over half a tank on fresh rubber. 30.1 was the best I seen on a full tank. And don't worry i'm sure Beau will give him a run for his money.
Even on an empty tank I'd be happy with a 29.999 He also beat the lot of us starting from the back of the grid....which considering some of the talent in the room at the time I thought was quite impressive. I'm just glad I'm not in Div 1. Has the term "super alien" been coined yet? if not we might need to start using it for a few people...
I saw him do a 30 flat on the 1st hot lap (full tank), so 29s is definitely possible within the 14 lap race... And yes he got first after starting last on the grid and also false started by the looks, as he was way way behind when we all were going through the tunnel.
Beau was literally driving circles around me the other night on a practice run with AO. Got down to a 1:31.6 last night which was still slower than Rano and OTS but tyre life was good. I can see myself being stuck mid pack for this race and passing is so hard as I found out trying to get around Rano last night. With no pit strategies in play I think the pack is going to be tighter than a fish's.....
