Ok in an attempt to get back on topic here is my race report
Exec Summary
I was Rubbish!!!
Long Winded Explanantion
I was Rubbish!!!
Appendix A
No time to practice = no pace, was always going to be nowhere here, compounded by a dislike of the tack layout and an intense dislike of sector 3!!!!!!
Qual 1 as expected towards the back
Race 1 car was a real handful felt a lot different to the limited practice I did have and went backwards at a rate of knots
Qual 2 quick set up change was able to put a somewhat respectable 1.10.6 for second on the grid.
Race 2 ok start but not as good as juzzy's (maybe you can see the lights better sitting on the roof
) shuffled down to 4th had cows pushing hard behind. A little tap under heavy braking (no issues that can happen pushed me wide) I think cows waited to redress but as I rejoined the track got a cut track penalty but where I rejoined there was pretty much only one line to take and as I had no power it caused some carnage behind. Apologies but it all happend so quickly and in a bad spot so there was not much I could do. Cows got by shortly after, then after Spidey had an off had a mini battle with him, similar to Road America. Until I once again hit an invisible wall in turn 1, which also caught Spidey out and also caused issues for some others behind, not sure who Killer, Suic??? Those boys got ahead but had their own tangles and I was then able to trundle around til then end.
Vid of the low lights below.
While it went well logistically, not really a fan of the sprint concept not sure if that's because I was slow, don't like the track or don't like the concept, just all felt very hectic and seemed to be more incidents in this round than the previous two, not sure if that's because everyone was in a hurry. Also a long race would have been very interesting from a tyre management point of view. Anyway I can understand the reasoning for mixing things up a little.
Enjoy the break at least we have the debate thread to keep us occupied, I am off to Bathurst the following week so won't be on for a while.
