    ok, what division does 2:22.483 (with 2 or 3 small mistakes) put me in?

    Sorry this is off topic and I'm sure it sounds obvious to regular drivers, but why isn't the clutch allowed in races?
    What advantage does it give?

    i don't think it gives any advantage at all; can't miss-shift with a driving force :^)

    I remember speaking to dave about this ages ago and from memory this may not be an issue in gt5 compared to GTprologue..

    yea I think it's just a carry over from prologue where using clutch allowed faster shifting. I don't believe there is any advantage in GT5, and certainly there is the risk of mis-shifting.

    i've tested it a bit, using the H-pattern makes me consistently slower. launching is exactly the same - provided you know how to use the auto-clutch...

    the clutch still exists in paddle shift mode it's just controlled automatically, ie; a computer-assisted clutch - the meet is always perfect. hard to compete against that!

    in cars like the EVO X and Golf R32 which have double clutch transmissions the H-pattern is disabled, which i suppose is just like the real thing.

    interesting barf....might be something we can look at in the next few weeks with the mods / admin and discuss if we change the rule.

    I wasnt around when the rules were made for season 1 so i assume there was good reason then to go the way they did. I assume it was because at the time using the clutch gave an advantage and the sunday league that we run is about having the same equipment so everyone is on a level playing field.

    Ive never had to worry as i use the DFGT wheel.......

    can the following guys please let me know what you intend to do for season 10.....will be away over xmas and nmight find it hard to set a heap of time to season 10 so want to get as much of it sorted before i head away.....

    Pencil me in Stu, daylight savings is a bit of a bugger for us QLD's, but someone has to keep an eye on the mid-field.

    We did a bit of a new member drive last season and we got a few new guys.

    I might PM a few of them when i get back home when can access the PS3.

    As always, if you have any mates that might like to join put the word out and let them know they are more than welcome.

    We are about 5 or 6 drivers short of 4 full divisions. any extra drivers will be very welcome !!!

    CLEVO......i think you had a few new guys didnt you that didnt race last season ?????

    Yeah , he fell of the face of the earth Clevo, not sure what happened. He had a run with us one night, said he loved it but then didn't get online for like 3 months or something. I think his name was dean. Seemed like a good guy. See how you go.
