Doesn't really matter what tracks everyone has to deal with the same stuff. Surely you dont wanna be just full throttle everywhere. Make it challenging.

I'm a huge proponent of using all compounds on Very Fast tyre wear, & then letting the community sort out through testing what the status quo is, though of course it's all relative to fuel consumption. I've outlined previously the advantages, but briefly & non-exclusively they are :
-incentive to practise ( tyre strategies ) ongoing
    -encouragement for ingenuity
-bolsters the strengths of the car relative to the driver's handling tastes or traits (consistent laps/fast laps!)
-potential for unpredictable races (Like F1, it doesnt need to be a cracker every week. Some will be standard with everyone on similar strategy & some will be diffuse)

So I'll posit again, RM as a mandatory one stint minimum control tyre, & then everything else is open slather.
If I was Bernie Ecclestone, I would allow different compounds on the Front & Rear frankly... It's not as simple as matching tyre wear levels across the car, as that will potentially ruin the latent handling of the car, or even make you slower.

I don't know. I know that Sunday GT6 has been a thoroughly control car series for a long time, but Project CARS & the F1 series has setup as an extreme factor. Gran Turismo has remained a stagnant control series. Community events on GT6 have had setup as a part of it, but the very nature of those events determines that you'll never toil for hours on preparing for those events, because they are often devalued.

Anyway, GT has been successful as a control series thus far, so just ignore my ramblings if that suits :)

Currently, there are only twofold things to do before each weekend:
    1. Brake bias (10 laps total if you have an in-car brake lever control, maybe 15 laps without)
    2. Tyre & fuel wear (maybe 15 laps on the mandatory compound)

That's it. Otherwise just try & get quicker.

Anyway, don't worry. I love the series formula but just lament continually that GT has so much breadth of tracks, cars & features yet they are never seen in a true professional league capacity; they only get rolled out in arcade public lobbies where Boost is Strong & SRF is on steroids...

Sorry for rocking the boat. I'm honestly fine with whatever. The GTR rocks

I have to say that the test race on Tuesday night at RBR was fantastic in this car, it feels like the perfect car for lots of overtaking. The brakes on the GT-R feel like they're straight off of an F1 car, I was shocked with just how late I could brake yet still get it turned in nicely. No feeding the throttle in, just get it turned far enough then nail the right foot. With the right list of tracks this should be an epic season.

    I have done a little clean-up.
@Crunch your post is mostly fine apart from the dig you took at another series.

I am opposed to London and SSR5 Clubman.[/QUOTE]

The bloke who wrote this is an idiot, he had not tested all tracks. SSR5Clubman would be ok for the sprint track.

The break is too long. I need GT in my life again.... =(

Also, I had a few paragraphs written up about double-standards and suppression of rational discourse, but I thought better of it because it's not worth it. RIP

@Hatfield Fancy it wouldn't be a Spa if it wasn't wet, Although Le Mans would be fun wet. Nothing like facing every direction travelling up Eau Rouge hard choice.

It has been said that we need tracks that suit this car.
I am expecting to get shot down :notworthy: for suggesting this but here goes
I did a lot of testing on this 6.30 was my best lap. RS tyres started to silp lap 4,
Its like a rail 1 to 3 laps
Tyres fuel pit strategy night racing all come into it.
Nurburgring 7 or 8 lap night time (11.40pm?) Enduro
I recon its a must but hay I'm Easy

As much as I hate this car, I wouldn't mind a Nurb race in it. Green hell always manages to spice the races up :)
