Have done ZERO practice for this round. Hopefully can get on an hour before the race tomorrow.

I'll have to get back to you. Wedding Anniversary today, not sure if I'm going to be home (she hasn't decided if she wants to go out to dinner yet...lol).

Had a word with the "ball-n-chain", she said that we'll be home by 7:30 anyway, so if you're not on, I'll set up a room. (prob have a room open for practice anyway.. Gotta check this pit entry out).

Just checked with my ISP, still have 12GB of peak quota left, so I'm good to go

Doesn't look like I'm going to be able to make this round sorry fellas. Got commitments moved from thursday to tonight at 8pm WA time, so I'd have to leave half way through the race....

Unless the race time can be bought forward by 30mins? I know it's late notice so no worries if this won't work out. :|

I'll probably duck in pre-race and have a practice run either way. Good luck all.

that sucks mate 30 mins early i guess if all the regulars are on we could, outta ,sid and never enough usually jump on lateish

Mmmmf. Pretty disappointed with that performance, but that's what you get with zero practice I suppose. My set up didn't feel right but I was out of time and just had to run with it. Just managed to qualify 5th. Got an excellent start and was in toe with Outta and Beau at the front early on.

But I didn't know my lines and braking points well enough to judge when not to follow others. I ended up following Outta wide through the sweeping left hander. I put a rear wheel on the grass and slid all the way to the hairpin. Had to wait to get back on track and dropped to 8th I think. Followed someone wide into the sand on turn 1 and lost some more positions at some stage.

Then a few laps later Nieshy did virtually the same thing and lost it right in front of me. I got tagged as he snapped sliding from side to side. Put me in another big spinning slide and almost into the wall. Now I was down in 8th or 9th again and struggling to pick up time with the toll these slides had taken on my tyres, and it was only lap 12 or something.

Over 30s down on the leader and loosing time, I decided that now my best bet was to pit early, get rid of the prematurely worn rubber, try and get a smooth clear pit run, and find some open space on reentry to claw back some time on new tyres. This worked out pretty well and I eventually got back into 4th position. I started to get a better flow and put in some lap times better than my quali to get within 8 seconds of the leader and had fleeting visuals on Darko in 3rd. But as I had pitted earlier my 2nd set of tyres started to go off. I had a couple of squirly moments and finished 18s behind Beau, and about 10s behind Outta and Darko. Fresh air front and back for the last 10 laps or so.

Was hoping someone in front would make a mistake and I could get closer, but no, well driven there guys.

Not too bad a result, but all in all a bit frustrating. Cheers for starting a little bit early for me, I wouldn't have been able to race otherwise. Sorry I had to bail so quickly after the race.
