Just think of it as you can punish your tyres as much as you like since you'll have to pit for new ones anyway... unlike last season where you had to make them last in order to win in most races
Guarantee it wont be an issue mate.....was going to post up why we went down this path again....so will do it now ! Basically the car is very easy on its tires, those who punish the crap out of them will be pitting for the COMPULSORY stop at, say, half race, at which time your tires wont be below 'about' 70% anyway, you still have heaps of grip.... The strategy plays will be the following - look after tires and make stop without taking fresh tires and save time in pits, struggle towards end of race - go harder on tires and change at a time that your longer stint still leaves some rubber to fight at the end. The obvious difference this season the the compulsory stop, so it makes the window much smaller for all drivers, hopefully closing the gaps between the drivers. Hope that makes sense, we will post up any pit stop information when we get closer to the meet and greet so everyone (in all divs) has a clear understanding of what will work.
@stucar17 will you be selecting 'mandatory pit' when setting the room up? if you are, i found a glitch that if you jump start, and the message pops up to do your mandatory pit stop, it deletes the jump start drive through penalty. and only adds 5 seconds to your pit stop. 5 secs v having to drive the whole length of a pit straight is quite a difference.
HAHA i have a habit of jumping the start too. but always did my pit on the first time round. dunno how long it takes for the mandatory pit message to come up tho.
lol im the worst for jump starts. it pops up at on the first lap, second last corner before the pits on most tracks. So it will just delete off.
Can we just not have 'Mandatory Stops' off? That little message on the side will drive me nuts..... I think when someone develops a 40 second lead in a single lap it will become apparent perhaps they haven't stopped yet!
i agree that it will be quite noticable if someone doesnt stop, and would like to think we have a bunch of honest blokes that wont run the risk of not stopping and being noticed. maybe instead we can just DQ anyone, that doesnt do their stop in a race, for the whole season lol. harsh, but thatll stop anyone even thinking about it. after all, who wants to cheat to win, i know i dont.
Will drive me nuts as well. Someone mentioned the other night that you can deactivate it by pressing "pit in" if you have it allocated to a button ??? Will look into it for sure..... We will have a track list up this week......we have the tracks selected, but of a mix up but all suit the car really well. Just sorting the finer details of the sprint round, time scales and dates and the wet round with tire wear.
I am sure we are all gentlemen and anyone trying to exploit that compulsory pit with it off in the lobby settings why? Wonder how the track list will look
Who's putting their name up for hosting tonight? Also what time will people be on? I'll be on around 7:30pm
