My current car isn't worth mentioning but years ago I had a car that was a ton of fun to drive. I found a 79 Datsun 200B SX in great condition for a good price, bought it and decided to sink a few thousand into it.

    Rebuilt L20B Engine
    Ported/polished head
    Flat-top pistons
    Street/race cam
Twin side draft dual-throat 40mm Dellorto race carbs with decent filters
    4-2-1 extractors to a 2.5 inch exhaust
    Race fuel pump (mechanical)
    Decent coil
    Decent plugs/leads
Lowered pedders springs and shocks w/ nolathane bushes
    Challenger rims with sticky rubber

This was my second car, it was an absolute rocket and you could hear it coming a mile away. It stuck to the road like nobody's business. Really fun to drive. I had Solex locks on the thing but no alarm system, my security system was removing the dizzy lead when not driving. One day I hit a patch of oil on the road on a rainy day and spun it into an embankment, front-left hit first, flipped around and the rear-left hit next. Written off, was devastated. Funnily enough, I got out of the car and within a few seconds another car heading in the opposite direction hit the same patch of oil and span too. I ended up finding a rolling shell for $80 and transplanted all the good stuff into it but it just wasn't the same as the blue SX. I miss that car heaps.

The 636 has been the bike I've always wanted ever since I started riding 10 odd years ago.
One of my dreams actually came true today!

Weapon. Nothing comes close to the feeling of a quick bike.

This is "Tiffany" (Thiesson) she is a 1981 TT250, she is good ol' thumper, no electric leg, no injection, no alloy swing arms, all steel frame, and carby grunt. She just got some new chunky goodness with some new rubber under her, and yet despite her age has quite a set of legs on her keeping up with my mate's late model KX250.
She is a simple bike to work on, and ride, I don't need none of this flash floro plastic crap, cause she ain't no trailer queen :)

Hey @garyw61 I'm thinking of saving my pennies over next year or so for an 86, what are your thoughts?

If you are after a great value car for some fun driving I don't think you can go wrong Jono. I am still loving driving mine 2 years down the track. It won't win any drag races, but that's not what they are about.

Keep in mind that it is not a car that you and 3 of your mates can go cruising in. There is zero leg room in the back. Also don't plan on putting anything taller than about 30cm in the boot. Petrol will cost you 20c/litre more than standard ULP too.

Not really sure what sort of info you are after mate, but feel free to ask me anything specific.

Well I have no friends so it's the perfect car for me then! :roflmao:

Jokes aside I just figured since you're the only person I know who has one you'd be the best source of info. I've
never been a "power" guy, it's always appealed to me as a great driver's car but now I really want one for the pure driving experience. Is the handling really that good?

Handling is the best of any car I have driven. Centre of gravity is so low you can just chuck it in to the corner and it goes. I swapped out the stock rims/tyres for sticky 18 x 8's (I will never do any drifting). Suggest heading down to your local Toyota dealer and taking one for a test drive to see for yourself.

Definitely recommend putting wider and stickier tyres on @N64TheStig007 she's a slippery little beast on stock width tyres so that's probably something to consider cost wise.

I'd own one, they'd be awesome on a tight windy mountain road.

Gotta love the 600c bikes @SuiCid3 and @Liger. Had a K5 GSXR600 for a few years before I decided to biff it down the road. RIP.
Good to see a few other bikes on here though.
    My current garage holds a:
Honda 1989 VFR400 NC30: Non runner I was building as a post classic race bike but I've decided to sell once I've finished tidying it up. There is a new Pre '96 class being trialled here which I wouldn't mind getting an early CBR600 for and seeing what she can do.
Suzuki FXR150 "Bucket racer": Putting out a massive 15.5hp at the real wheel and weighing roughly 100kg, slick tyres, lumpy cams, bigger carb and lots of corner speed. Best lap time at Ruapuna (with the dipper which the cars don't run) is 2:03.0. Hoping to get under 2mins by the end of the summer, just need to find a few more testicles and make a few small tweaks to the suspension.
Suzuki TF125 Mudbug: Bought it cheap as a "Non runner" but managed to start it as soon as I got it home with no issues, tidied it up and hoping to make a wee profit selling it.
Piaggio Zip 50t: Mrs rides it to work but I take it for a hoon every now and then for a laugh, great fun.

I would have considered a VFR400 for the right price if I didn't come across this bike.
    They are lovely little machines.
@Ad2mny is also hooning it up on 2 wheels.

Have tidied the bike up over the last few months (very slowly lol).

Bled brakes, flushed oil, replaced oil filter, cleaned out air filter.
    Clean and relubed chain, tightened.
New boots front and rear, Angel GT's
    Clear front indicators.
    DIY'ed my own servo eliminator.
    Rear cowl.
Tinted windscreen, black bolts, random stickers removed.
Ventura racks and rear pegs have been taken off since this picture.
Also planning on a custom tail tidy once my clear rear indicators come in.

Bike really needs a proper detail... which will be on the cards soon.
Also looking at a dual headlight conversion or possibly projectors.

Finally got some time to go for a ride last Saturday.
Great to be hitting the roads again!
