i watched the video, and i worked out the delay until the green light at the start (7 seconds), til the time i crossed the line 1:26:00, so i am guesing around the 1:25:53 mark for the full race. Easyprey was about 15 seconds behind.
Race recap: was a tough long race. Started well, fuel map 1 and just short shifted. Managed a gap of about 7 seconds, then halfway through the 2nd lap, a few mistakes, and then a meeting with Barry R, was down to second place as Easyprey came through and took first. Was down about 16 seconds or so. Managed to catch up, and then when we pitted at the end of the 3rd lap, i kept my tires hoping that Easy would change his... and he did. So was down to about 6 seconds then. Then it was god awful driving for a lap in the dark.
When you are close behind another driver on this track in the dark, you cannot see ANYTHING in front of the other car:
i had a few very close calls with Easy due to the sight issue, and nearly ran him off the track once - but i came off second best both times. Was down a good 10 seconds or so, then decided to wait for daylight to look for a pass.
Threw in a couple of awesome laps, including my 8:22. Pitted on the 6th and a change of tires. Slowly crept up to Easy, and i knew i was stronger in the 1st half of course, where Easy kept pulling away on the 2nd part - plus the GP track is better for doing overtakes, so i waited for chance to pass. It came at the start of the 9th in the GP long corner (Turn 5). Got it done, and had a cracker of a lap, and pulled away. Pitted at the end of 9, for a quick drink, and pulled it home.
Props to EasyPrey - you kept me thinking the whole race/
Good, long and a little painful race.
until the next.
