GT5 Chev's Supercar World Tour

Welcome to the Supercar World Tour! This series will have all the big guns from around the world competing to see who has the balls to take their machines to the limit in a series of sprint races. The tracks will be all real life circuits like Laguna Seca, Monza, Suzuka etc. It will be a 2 man team event.

I am going to split the series into 2 classes. They will be ULTRA (570PP) and SUPER (530PP). The setup is that 1 team member will be in an ULTRA car, and the other will be in a SUPER car. There will be no individual championship, only a team championship. A class championship will be tallied, but it is secondary to the teams tally.

We will be using a PP ballast system. The top 3 in each class will lose a TBA amount of PP for the next race. This will involve lowering your horsepower until you meet the required PP. I will be policing this system in qualy and races.

The team makeups will be worked out by me on a racing form/skill basis. Generally Div 1 guys will be put with Div 2 or 3 guys. I will let the teams decide their own names.

I'd be looking at starting this series at the beginning of October.

yer what with the mazdas and the nascar and the S8 i wouldnt start it for a good 2months at least

It wont start till Mazdas and Nascars are finished...didn't you read the post?

Yeah I would like to base it around BHP rather than PP. The weights would all have to be similar though, which would be an issue, but that's why we would do testing.

Shiiiiiiii.. This sounds like a bloody ripper Chev, with Clevo's Kart series on my radar also, I just don't think I'd be able to commit to another series, especially a tuning series (I know it would have to be on given the concept). If you were to put it off until the Karts were up however, I would be glad to join Team Italy, up to you though man.

maybe buy all of the cars but one week will be americana ie corvette at laguna seca or krautenweeken ie mercedes at nurburg would this be pheasible it would take out the idea of trying to get every car equal i tried it before and its a pain

That sounds cool E but at the same time, I really like the sound of all cars/countries battling it out in the same race too, you've opened up a can'o'worms here Chev.

I really like your idea E, but its not really what I'm aiming for. I want lots of different cars on track at once. It's a celebration of the supercar.

I reckon I will take the tuning aspect out and run the power limiter to bring a couple of the faster cars down a notch. This will open it up to more people as no tuning is required. I drove the ZR1 around Laguna Seca tonight and it felt great on SS tyres to be honest. I like the fact that with no tuning we can keep the stock sound of the cars. It's nice to drive a car in GT5 without that horrible whine from the racing gearbox! Having cars with wildly different gear ratios will be cool as well. The ZR1 for instance can do 107 km/h in first, so I can use that immense amount of torque to launch out of corners and off the line.

The BMWs were lacking in PP, so I will have to drop them from the list of cars. They will be replaced by Audi. After BMW the Aston Martin V12 Vantage was the next lowest PP car, but I think it will be ok. The Nissan GT-R was next lowest, but I think the nature of the car will help it keep up. The Enzo topped the list for HP and PP, so it will have to be brought back down a few horses so it lines up better with the others. If I can get all the cars reasonably close for the first race, I think the success limiter (a new term I just made up for limiting the power of the cars) will take care of the rest.

As I have said elsewhere recently, I am struggling to commit to 3 race series so need to trim back to 2 overall, and this one has 'pearler' written all over it. If you can wait to start this at the end of Sept once the Kart series is over, I am a guaranteed entry and would like to be on Team Germany (heritage)

As an aside, what about including one of the Motegi variants too? Or don't enough people here have it to justify its inclusion? Yeah, I am a DLC track whore :lol:

Yeah Rumbles, I will be postponing this until the end of Sept I'd say. I'd like to get it sorted out asap though. Motegi is on the cards for sure mate, just depends who has it.

i did warn you chev trying to level everything is a pain but im pretty sure you will crack it eventually... maybe when it gets a bit fail-able due to cars gaining power from races etc it may get a bit more difficult but its your series so go for it
