I know it isn't DR related but have any of you PC people tried out the
simrallyfans Richard Burns Rally plugin? I finally gave it a go last night. Firstly, the install size is massive, the game was released 18 years ago and it took up over 100GB of storage. This isn't surprising considering the sheer volume of content that's been added, there are a ridiculous number of maps and cars. The install had a couple of hiccups but overall was pretty straightforward. The game menus are very old and can only be navigated with up/down/left/right, enter, and escape. The graphics aren't quite 2004 level bad, they are definitely improved but this will win no beauty contests. There's no in-game mechanic to adjust degrees of rotation so I had to adjust that in the Thrustmaster software.
The driving though? Oh man, I finally understand the hype surrounding this sim. The feedback is incredible, absolutely incredible. You feel like your steering wheel is connected to the wheels, and you feel so much of the ground's effect on the tyres and car. The weight transfer is awesome too. It feels more real than any rally sim I've done. In saying all that though, it is pretty difficult, I had many
crashes unanticipated offroad sightseeing excursions. It's a whole lotta fun though, if you have a PC it's worth a look at.
