Tire wear and Fuel wear locked in for Season. A reminder that the car will be run at standard power/weight, so you don't need to change anything prior to entry.

Pre season will be run in equal conditions Mode, each Circuit will use the default time whilst weather will be the first available option (usually S01 from memory).

    SEASON 9 QUALIFYING NIGHT
    - Brands Hatch Grand Prix Circuit
    - Fuji Speedway (With Chicane)
    - Suzuka Circuit
15 min Qualifying Sessions - All Preset Weather S01, Afternoon, Equal Conditions On
0x Tire Wear, 0x Fuel Wear, All other settings same as listed in OP

WELCOME to Season 9 for Gran Turismo 7!!
As always please take a couple minutes to read the following so you have an understanding of what is expected on quali night.
If you have any questions, or want clarification on any of the rules or regulations please ask!

    ROOM OPEN:
Room captains may have practice rooms open beforehand but should have the official room up by 7:30pm AEST. Please be on time, or let the room captain or div thread know if you may be late. If all agree, the room may wait for you, Within reason. Please remember we have drivers from NZ, and later starts mean a much later night for them.

    SIGHT ISSUES:
Before qualifying, exit to lobby and spend 30 seconds in spectate mode, scroll through the list of drivers on track and make sure that you can see their car. If you can't see somebody (and they are confirmed as being on track), exit the lobby, re-join, and check again. Type the number of cars you can see in the lobby chat and cross check with other drivers to ensure clarity.

    QUALIFYING 1 : 8pm AEST for 15 mins.
Feel free to run practice laps prior to qualifying, The host will trigger a 'Room Reset' closer to the commencement of Qualifying. Qualifying will be run IN PRACTICE MODE.

    PITS ARE OPEN DURING QUALIFYING

    LAG ISSUES / ROOM RESTARTS:
This is up to the room host/captains. Disconnections that occur during qualifying should be able to join back without hassle as we are running qualifying in Practice mode. If a room is deemed too laggy to continue, it may be wise to change room hosts.

    TRACK LIMITS:
As we are running with 'track limit penalties" OFF, we will run with our usual Raceonoz track limit regulations. This means you MUST have at least 2 wheels on the ripple strip OR white line that defines the track limit. If you do make a mistake and have to run outside the limits, be aware that you are not allowed to gain any advantage time wise.

Track Limits will not be monitored tonight due to the session settings. Please follow RaceOnOz track limit rules to ensure a fair and even chance amongst everybody while setting your laps.

    CONTACT:
Is to be avoided at all times..... I'm not even going to warrant this section with a full paragraph. Do not hit eachother. If I have to be contacted about people making contact in a qualifying session I won't hesitate to hand out penalties for the season. That also goes for bump drafting which is STRICTLY PROHIBITED TONIGHT.

    PIT ENTRY/EXIT LINES:
Pit Line Penalties are ON so you will be penalised in game if you cut any part of the entry or exit lines. You may receive a penalty for misjudging your line on entry. Be mindful not to impede other cars on your way in. Due to the session being run in practice mode, it's advised that if you must return to Pit Lane, pull off the track safely, and warp to pits with no other cars around you.

    BLUE FLAGS:
There will be no Blue Flags in use tonight so please use your mirrors and be aware of cars around you. You are not obliged to move out of the way for anyone if you are on a hot lap, but please if you are not on a hot lap, be courteous and respectful to those who may be on a hot lap.

    STEWARDS GROUP AND RACE PROTESTS:
This season, the Head Steward will be @Viperzed. There will be no official protests for the qualifying round (unless its something ridiculous) however if you believe an incident needs to be addressed, don't be afraid to teach out and ask the question.
DO NOT BLOW UP IN THE FORUM OR IN THE ROOM CHAT. There have been multiple incidents where the replays from drivers have been different, so its true that sometimes things are not as black and white as they may seem.

    PARKING UP:
If you are unable to continue for any reason, please either enter the pits manually or warp to pits via the Options menu. Parking up off track activates yellow flags in the sector, and even though penalties are off, we have reports of penalties occurring for passes happening near the parked car. Please make sure you screenshot your session best times PRIOR to leaving the track.

    ATTENDANCE:
Could all drivers please inform Room Captains or make a post on the division thread if they do not intend on attending. Room Captains/ Lobby Hosts are advised not to wait for anyone who has not communicated their intentions. If you do not post in your room thread or psn chat that you cannot attend, a spot may not be held for you for the following week's event.

    Qualifying Specific
Each circuit will have a short practice session followed by a 15 min qualifying session in which lap times and optimal lap times will be monitored in order to ensure our divisions are as close as possible! In order to do this, Drivers are to screenshot their Session Best tab in the HUD to record their best lap time as well as optimal lap time. These times can then be sent to the Division PSN chat where they will be recorded by admin and used to finalise our divisions. Screenshots can be taken by pressing the share button on their wheel or controller, drivers can then send screenshots to the Division chat where @Matthyus will pain stakingly collate the data and form our final divisions.

For this reason, drivers are advised to avoid slipstream where possible as it will unfairly lower your optimal lap time and potentially increase your risk of being put in a division that does not match your ability in this car.

    Hi all,

There's been a slight calendar change, due to a slight oversight by me, I'd neglected to realise that the Kings Birthday Long Weekend clashes with round 4, so we'll be having a mid season break to allow everyone to enjoy their weekends!

Divs will be finalised very shortly, looking forward to round 1 at Daytona!

    Cheers,
    Viper

    PITS ARE OPEN DURING QUALIFYING

RACE START TIME : 8:15pm AEST

    LAG ISSUES / ROOM RESTARTS:
This is up to the room host/captains. If there is a Disconnection (or cars stuck on grid) at race start, it is sporting to try to get them back in, which may mean a new room to be set up. I would suggest only having 1 restart if required due to DSC, due to having to set up the room from scratch and also having to set timed laps in order to set the grid. Please be as reasonable as you can with this....

    Race Start - Rolling Start
For the first time EVER, we are trialling a manually operated double file rolling start in Sunday League. Below you'll find a quick run through on how this will work on the night.

Drivers will set off from the grid in a sensible manner, beginning their formation lap. The speed of the polesitter during this lap is totally up to them, however exiting T10 (the Le Mans Chicane), the polesitter MUST hold 150kph (or similar) until the start zone and pull off to their desired side of the circuit as the field goes double file behind them. The field must not accelerate and brake erratically or weave after this point. The field MUST be set by the start zone. The "start zone" is a theoretical set of lines between which the start of the race may occur, triggered by the polesitter accelerating to race speed. The first line is across the circuit when the grass begins on the infield, drivers left. At any point after this line has been crossed by the pole sitter, the race may begin. The second line is the start/finish timing line. If the polesitter reaches the start/finish line and hasn't yet elected to accelerate, the race will begin automatically. Any drivers who fail to obey starting procedure and hold up the lobby by accelerating away at the standing start will receive ONE WARNING over the season, after which they will be sent to the rear of the grid for each breach. Any major issues will require a restart of the race. The race starts will be under the jurisdiction of the Room Captain/s and only they may call for a Red Flag/Restart unless stated prior.

    TURN 1 LAP 1:
The old saying goes, you can’t win the race on lap 1, but you can definitely lose it. Please be mindful of other drivers on lap 1 coming into turn 1, and for that matter, the entire race. It can be very demoralizing to hot lap on your own for 45 minutes as I'm sure many of you are aware.

    TRACK LIMITS:
As we are running with 'track limit penalties" OFF, we will run with our usual Raceonoz track limit regulations. This means you MUST have at least 2 wheels on the ripple strip OR white line that defines the track limit. If you do make a mistake and have to run outside the limits, be aware that you are not allowed to gain any advantage, position or time wise. Track Limits protests may be launched by any active driver in the race.

Track Limits will be monitored at turns 1, 6, 9 & 10 as well as generally around the entire circuit. Track limits will be defined as two wheels on the yellow kerb, or white line, whichever is further out. The exit of turn 3 is able to be extended over the white line without incurring a penalty.

Straddling the apron line is prohibited, drivers must not have their left hand side wheels drop below the painted lines on the apron verge. Any driver found to be exploiting this may be investigated.

    CONTACT:
Is to be avoided at all times..... If you make contact with someone and gain an advantage, YOU ARE EXPECTED to give the spot back. Occasionally, Gran Turismo track limits may teleport a disadvantaged driver backwards on circuit to ‘reset’ them, if this occurs at the hand of another driver, IT IS EXPECTED that the driver at fault will wait and redress the position.
Side by side 'rubbing' is racing is allowed and promoted within reason, but all drivers are expected to give racing room. For clarity surrounding racing room, please feel free to PM @Viperzed
Show each other RESPECT! It is difficult enough to drive the car at the limit on your own, without someone squeezing you within a millimeter of the grass.
So be patient and show respect to your fellow drivers.
If you are redressing contact, please do so out of the way of other cars, off the racing line, or if there isn't much room, off track.

    PIT ENTRY/EXIT LINES:
Pit Line Penalties are ON so you will be penalised in game if you cut any part of the entry or exit lines. Be mindful entering the pits that you need to be precise on where you enter the lane, if you are too wide, you will be spat out onto the infield. You may receive a penalty for misjudging your line on entry. Be mindful not to impede other cars on your way in. On pit exit, cars exiting the lane are reminded to keep drivers left if there are any cars approaching, you will have to give them space.

    BLUE FLAGS:
Please observe blue flags, and move out of the way of faster cars if you are being lapped. Failure to observe blue flags WILL result in a penalty

    STEWARDS GROUP AND RACE PROTESTS:
This season, the Head Steward will be @Viperzed. If you have reason to protest, please SAVE YOUR REPLAY, and then let him know via a PM.
DO NOT BLOW UP IN THE FORUM OR IN THE ROOM CHAT. There have been multiple incidents where the replays from drivers have been different, so its true that sometimes things are not as black and white as they may seem. You have until MIDNIGHT, Monday night to register your protest via PM. Stewards may ask for video evidence from both drivers or room captains to make any decision.

    SAVE YOUR REPLAY:
If the room host can ask all drivers to save their replay would be good before exiting the room.....once they exit out and the option goes, it cant be retrieved!

    PARKING UP:
If you are unable to continue to race, please enter the pits and leave your game paused without selecting tyres so that your car stays parked in the pits. Parking up off track activates yellow flags in the sector, and even though penalties are off, we have reports of penalties occurring for passes happening near the parked car. Quitting off track results in a sometimes race ending lag spike and may be punished in extreme scenarios.

    ATTENDANCE:
Could all drivers please inform Room Captains or make a post on the division thread if they do not intend on racing on Sunday night, Room Captains/ Lobby Hosts are advised not to wait for anyone who has not communicated their intentions. If you do not post in your room thread or psn chat that you cannot attend, a spot may not be held for you for the following weeks race.

TRACK SPECIFIC - Daytona Road Course
Wow we're finally back! It's been nearly two months since we went racing so I'm VERY excited to finally be here at Daytona!

A classic GT Endurance circuit, Daytona is a high speed, flowing mecca of American GT, boasting some challenging corners and plenty of overtaking opportunities. Rear tire wear will be important to manage over the race as the 2 stop rears its head as an option for those not so kind on their tires.

Please can everyone pay VERY CLOSE ATTENTION to the Rolling Start segment of the briefing! It is crucial to the success of the night that all divs get the Rolling start right.

Hi all, A follow up for our Rolling Start procedure.

The above photo depicts the area of which the start can first commence. Once a car is in line with the "Restart Zone" banner which can be seen in white on the grass, the pole sitter may choose to go at any point from there.

Clarification as well around the pole sitters desired starting side, can the room captain please ensure that this is put in the room chat prior to Race Start so that all drivers know which side evens and odds should go to.

Any further questions, please don't hesitate to ask!

So much pace but no clue how to use it! Agonisingly close to @MINT_GTR in quali to put it on the front row. Not sure I had pole in my back pocket at any point but a huge confidence boost to be challenging.

Race started poorly, I got swallowed up lap 1 after a mediocre start and went all the way back to P5 which is ultimately where I stayed as the pack behind me disappeared and I pushed to try stay with Muffin and Ranger ahead.

I won't scoff at a P5 finish, but I know I had a lot more in me there, should've had myself a podium at a minimum.

Keen to go to Tokyo on Sunday for the one hour round, under another very pretty sunset

Pleased to announce that this season's finale will be run as "Art Car Round"! Pay tribute or create your own artistic inspired livery on the GT One. Think classic BMW Art Cars, Porsches heritage hypercar entry, Ford Mustang GT3, anything a little bit different!

The field must not accelerate and brake erratically or weave after this point. It is reccomended for cars to maintain one car length to the row ahead, and to try and stay perfectly alligned with the car next to you (radar is perfect for this!). The field MUST be set by the start zone. The "start zone" is a theoretical set of lines between which the start of the race may occur, triggered by the polesitter accelerating to race speed. The first line is across the circuit at the slight left hand kink on the start/finish straight. At any point after this line has been crossed by the pole sitter, the race may begin.

Be mindful entering the pits that you need to be braking hard around the outside of the hairpin to enter the pits.

    TRACK SPECIFIC - Tokyo Expressway
Into a concrete canyon, Tokyo is a relic of the past come to modern life. It's tight twisty turns challenge the most experienced of GT drivers, as shaving the walls can mean the difference between glory and disaster. Drivers will have to be careful to manage their fuel given the extra formation lap and calculate accordingly for the extended 60 min race.

On a Rolling start note, most divs got this spot on last weekend. I've made a few amendments to that section of the briefing to reflect distance to car ahead etc and proximity to cars around. Thankyou to those who shared the div replays, I was able to have a good look at all starts!

If the Room Captains could also please include a rough time for the formation lap (the lap 1 time), that would assist in the Race Results.

Not my best race. The one time I got a good Quali the one time I was struggling in the race

Man that was a tough one, Knew I had some serious speed at this combo but couldn't nail the quali lap so started off P3. Jumped Ranger after a Fuel mix issue that ultimately cost him P2 and sat P2 for the entire first stint until Noodles jumped me in the pit stops with a solid fuel save. Second stint just went poorly, struggled to get back in my groove and then started to fight a viciously cramping right knee which really stalled me. Luckily the gap to P5 was large enough that I could relax a little bit and just bring it home for some solid points.

Looking forward to Monza without a Chicane this week!

    Morning everyone,

For next season, we've yet again been treated to two excellent cars that have potential to be brilliant season cars. The Nissan Skyline GTS-R and the Honda NSX JGTC both offer varying degrees of performance and should provide close racing should we choose to pursue them!

I urge everyone to buy these two cars as soon as possible, both currently in the Legend, and Used Car Dealerships respectively.

WELCOME to Season 9 for RaceOnOz GT7!
Please take a couple minutes to read the following so you have an understanding of what is expected on race night.

    QUALIFYING : 8pm AEST for 10 mins.
Feel free to run practice laps prior to qualifying, The host will trigger a 'Room Reset' closer to the commencement of Qualifying.

The speed of the polesitter during this lap is totally up to them, however exiting T6 (Ascari), the polesitter MUST hold 100kph (or similar) until the start zone and pull off to their desired side of the circuit as the field goes double file behind them. The first line is across the circuit at the start of the pit wall (right hand side) on the start/finish straight.

Track Limits will be monitored at turns 2, 6 & 7 as well as generally around the entire circuit. Track limits will be defined as two wheels on the kerb, or white line, whichever is further out.

    CONTACT:
Is to be avoided at all times..... If you make contact with someone and gain an advantage, YOU ARE EXPECTED to give the spot back. You may receive a penalty for misjudging your line on entry. Be mindful not to impede other cars on your way in. On pit exit, cars exiting the lane are reminded to keep drivers right if there are any cars approaching, you will have to give them space.

    BLUE FLAGS:
Please observe blue flags, and move out of the way of faster cars if you are being lapped. Failure to observe blue flags WILL result in a penalty

    TRACK SPECIFIC - Monza
To the temple of speed we go for a proper test of the GT One's performance. There will be no typical first Chicane here so the chaos is bound to happen at our....second? Chicane? Either way, please everyone be mindful you will be carrying some incredible speed into the second Chicane and this car is questionable over kerbs, some care will need to be taken all night!

Rolling starts were spot on last week and I'd love to keep that consistency going!

If the Room Captains could also please include a rough time for the formation lap (the lap 1 time), that would assist in the Race Results.
