    in my experience, there are two best options

    * either impose the same control tyre on everyone, then noone can complain
    * free tyre choice (up to a slip ratio balanced with power/weight), then anyone who makes a bad tyre choice can only blame themselves.

    We generally use 1 of 2 options for our sunday league barf.

    1. same tire for everyone, with the wear rate to "ABOUT" 80 / 90 % of race distance when pushed hard. This way you can either go hard, get a lead and pit for fresh rubber at the end..... OR......conserve a little and make it to the end without a stop and make the time up by not pitting.

    2. 2 tire model where the softest tire is used in ONE stint only. You can choose when you use that tire, but you must start on the tire you qualify on. Start on the softer tire and you must pit for the harder option and finish the race on the harder of the 2 tires.

    A few optios, but we will narrow it down in the next week or so.
