I was thinking a similar thing, but your's sounds better

We can either go that way or go with the silent auction.
The main reason I didn't want to keep the teams as is for S3, is captains may have based some of their picks on S2 results that had already happened. We have hardly any idea who will be up top for S3.

Once we get closer to S3 start I will organise the S3 bidding thread and open a vote for either keeping teams or starting from scratch.

I think we keep current teams, give team captains a budget on which they can bid on new/returning driver not already signed to a team.

TBH its not much work with silent auction. Each team captain privately messages me their 10 bids. (drivers retain their current bid price as a minimum) Then the highest bids are signed and losing bids refunded. Rinse and repeat a couple times and voila teams are sorted.

The open bidding in the thread was a lot of work.
