Sorry Leeboy for sort of high-jacking the thread here.... But I just wanted to add WEATHER as the other reason a "force cockpit view" lounge restriction could be useful. - rain in bumber view is barely noticeable, in cock-pit view it's a a massive disadvantage. For a group who wanted to enjoy the experience of having a greater sense of immersion whilst maintaining a level playing field, it would be unfair if someone joined there wet race lounge and went bumper view. Without the restriciton there's no way to police it.

So we can't have the option to detune it. Its only higher then the others because of its torque value. I'm sure a bit of ballast would easily bring it under 600pp. anyway..

Rules are rules, if you want to use the Z, by all means create a super GT championship of your own and have it as one of the cars.
If you want to race in this championship though, play nice with the other kiddies and use one of the cars on the list :)

Very, very strange logic at work here. Tune up all the SuperGT cars you want to 600pp, but don't dare detune one...? I could understand if it was a stock racing series and you did not want the Z competing, but 600pp is 600pp.

I think I'll skip this. So far you have threatened everyone with being kicked out (miss 2 races), called everyone kiddies and have strange and unexplained rules about SuperGT cars not being allowed in a SuperGT league. You are not allowing any debate even at this stage when everything is still being formulated, I can only imagine how hostile you will become later on.

Just does not sound like fun to me. A little respect for people and less my way or the highway when people ask simple questions would go far.

Dude, the series has been decided. If you don't want to race, don't race.
I said the Z wasn't included because it was over 600PP to begin with. If that's the way I want to do it, this is a series I have created and I've taken my considerable time and effort to do it, so I feel my rules should be followed.
I don't have time for people who say they want to race then don't decide to turn up.
As for Super GT cars not being allowed in a Super GT series, I don't see anyone complaining about the lack of 300 series Super GT cars...
As for respect, telling someone how to run their own series shows a complete lack of respect in my book.
If you want to skip it, no problem, but you'll be missing some great racing...and not blowing my own trumpet here, but I think I've got the respect of many racers and the mods as one of the best captains and most avid supporters of GTLOZ since it began.

I'm a bit pissed off now that someone has decided to piss on my parade that has taken a fair amount of time and effort, testing and piss-farting around with graphics and the like to create...

Always wondered why some insist on tyre restrictions and then allow traction control, is it to even up the competition between controller and wheel users. I think the wheel users may have an advantage with tyres restricted and TC off because of the extra control. Have raced against controller drivers who don't use traction control but they say they have to have the extra grippy tyres to better control wheel spin. Looks like the tyre restriction and use of traction control may do the job of evening thing up between the 2.

TBH agree with leeboy, if you want to pick it apart, maybe you should have got involved at the planning stage and made suggestions then rather than now when everything's been worked out.

Stop complaining and just roll with it, its not like its the end of the world when OH NO one car can't be used...

If you have a better idea, spend the months that leeboy has spent to put together a league and make your own rules.

Leeboy, I appreciate the time you've spent formulating this comp and I hope this doesn't detract from your enthusiasm towards the league and specifically this comp. I'm sure plenty of others have the smae viewpoint.

Everyone needs to show a bit of respect towards people who've put the time in to make your life easy and fun instead of complaining that it's not done the way you like it.

We'll seeing as though everyone else is... i might put my two cents worth in here... aimed at lunz. Maybe if the planning stage interacted with us we wouldn't have to ask these types of questions. Did you bother to look at it this way lunz?

I'm no expert, but i would have thought a little feedback from the participants could help.

@Beau, this thread was intended for a bit of Q and A. The way I decided to do the series meant that I only chose cars under 600PP, and I stand by that choice which I think you understand. No problems with you questioning why at all.
What really pissed me off is that someone had the nerve to come and tell me I was basically being a prick for not relenting and bending my rules just because someone mentioned a car that wasn't included but falls into the category.

Our standard league has rules and regs just as the Super GT league does. If you don't wish to follow them you don't have to, you just don't race.
I've put in a fair bit of effort with picking circuits and testing cars, seeing how many laps would be right for the time frame and all that kind of stuff, not to mention basically emptying my GT credit account as I spent almost 8 million on cars to test.

As I said, no dramas with you Beau, I value your constructive input and took the sprint round idea on board as I think it will work brilliantly. As for someone else absolutely berating me, telling me how to run my championship and then having the nerve to say that I have no respect?
Excuse my language but :):):):) that, :):):):) that to high heaven mate. I think you and all but 1 in this great league of ours would agree with me there.

Rant over...looking forward to some good Super GT racing!

@Lunz, appreciate the support bud, cheers :)

could go on arguing but won't, I understand where everyone's coming from and yes have considered all sides beau, just tended to side with leeboy considering he did all the work and noone really offered their help (he did post that he was putting one together). Also wasnt aimed at you, more towards nanasu

Lets leave it now and continue along with the league (looks like i can probably make it, but should know this weekend for sure)

I'd like to know how exactly so much work goes into this. You pick cars that are already grouped for similar performance and pick some tracks. How does it take more than 30mins time?

For the record I have been involved in GT racing leagues since 1998. Not only have I raced in them for that long, I have been involved in their planing, admin, created their dedicated websites and validated replays. I know exactly what it takes. To do something like this on a forum, with live racing that needs no replay uploads, no validation, no dedicated rules, very little administration... If you have spent more then 30 mins on this then you are doing something wrong (in fact I am planning an extension to my site which will do all of this in a few clicks).

All I was asking is that speak with a little more respect to those you want to race in your league. Without people racing you have nothing. It is not so rude of people to simply ask questions about something you want them to dedicate their spare time to. You should be giving people honest and polite answers, not just telling people to :):):):) off as you basically have.

If you spend 30 minutes organising a championship, I wouldn't want to race in it.

If I gave you 8 tracks and a group of cars, and asked you how many laps it would take to make a race 30 minutes, could you tell me within 30 minutes??

I don't care what you've done, how many championships you've organised or whatever. Fact is, I've created this championship to a set of parameters. If anyone doesn't like it, as I've said, you don't have to race in it.

I do have a life away from Gran Turismo and the league. The fact that I've spent a cumulative time of probably about 6 hours testing, choosing tracks, making the poster and basically making sure it would work as a series obviously means nothing to you.

If you want to talk about respect, how about showing me some before you tell me to respect others. I did this totally off my own back because I think it will make for some good, close racing which everyone can enjoy. It will be the first championship for this league that offers tuning and a choice of cars.

So like I said, practice what you preach mate and you'll be far better off.

Leeboy I do practice what I preach. I have put an amount of work into my website that no organization of a simple league could ever be compared to. If anyone has the right to say 'if you dont like it, leave', it is me. But I don't. Because feedback is golden. Some things users have asked me to change have taken months to code, but I do it with little in the way of thanks. That is how you make things better.

But whatever. You can indeed run this however you like, reply to your users however you like. Long term I do not think this will lead to anything good, but you disagree and that is fine. I'll stop intruding on your thread.

All I can say is that for a guy who doesn't show up half the time you have an awful lot to say...

I appreciate your 'feedback' and wish you well with your 'website'...
