A few weeks ago i went to the A.C.T round of the N.S.W hillclimb championships to give a friend of mine a hand in the pits with his hayabusa powered dellara F3 hillclimb car. I had never been to a hillclimb event before and what a great experience it was ! They have a fantastic 1000m track just of sutton road near the police driving centre, the track has a live timing screen showing each split time and a total time for each run which was great for comparing times to the vast variety of cars there to compete, there was everything from a 6 cylinder EB falcon in road trim to a 700 bhp 2.4 litre V8 formula car ! This is a track that if you have a CAMS licence (easy to get), $75 per day entry fee and a helmet you can take you pride and joy road car or any other car for that matter and thrash it around the track 1 lap at a time. here are some pics of the various cars competing on the day. Cheers mate, it was a great day and I would highly recommend it to anyone. Watching a wide variety of cars in the same environment and comparing times was great. As a example the yellow dellara ended up doing a 38.07 sec lap and the red formula car did a 37.65 sec lap and the magna did a low 40 sec lap from memory.
That open Wheeler under the Buick indy car looks like a Ferari 156 from the 1962 F1 season, just missing the back half of its cover: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ferrari_156
My grandpa has one similar, with 138 Holden power, vw gearbox etc.. had to have a 2nd look to see if it was his lol. There's only 4 left in Australia and he usually gets it to leyburn everynow and agaian for nostalgia. It'll be.mine one-day

Hi Fellas, I've put together a Video and some photos from my last race meeting. Pacific Coast Titles, Port Macquarie. I race TAG Restricted light at the moment. This was my first outing in this kart, so far I'm very happy with it. For the weekend, I placed 2nd overall on points, with heat results 3rd, 2nd, 5th, 1st and 2nd respectively. Hope you enjoy, especially you Dusty http://www.mediafire.com/download/47xudczvj3zzb6t/6M2J2937.JPG http://www.mediafire.com/download/diauuf4kfrmwpbs/6M2J4406.JPG http://www.mediafire.com/download/jx2ibzcibjdywr7/6M2J5183.JPG
Very nice Beau Funny watching you bounce around in your seat on the high speed corners. Nice curb mount at the end there Gratz
Yeah karting way harder on the body than most people realise. Especially when you have high grip tyres and bumpy tracks. Kurb mounted indeed. Was a pretty committed dive bomb and that dude had his blinkers on.
Might get to go around eastern creek next month, some guy I know is organising something and there is a class for ages 16-18 . Will be fun hopefully, pretty sure its just a regularity thing but I've gone in something like that before and didn't really pay much attention to the regularity side of things, this will be my first time round a track though, last thing was a motorkhana thing. If I do go (should be a yes), I hope to get some sort of a camera sorted at least for video.
Testing my (then) new toy car. Some of these times were under national record pace, and I'm looking forward to having a crack at the national title later this year. Also, a video of me and a few guys in a local crew drifting Oran Park. The car was my mums daily driver that she let me borrow for a track day It ended up mildly modified and pretty competitive. It is stock in this video. Motorkhana www.youtube.com/watch?v=51sS8e-MJJg Drift www.youtube.com/watch?v=IZYUUkDVtrE
A few years ago before I went back to uni I used to do a bit of drifting here and there in my AE86. Unfortunately I had to part it out once I started uni again as was way too much of a distraction. Only 2 more years study to go and i'll be keen to make a return. The new GT86 looks mighty fine.......
After it nagging the back my mind for nearly as long as a baby takes to grow i finally remembered what it is. I should have picked it immediately being an Adelaide boy,but age and other things blur the memory,LOL. It's an Elfin. If you compare the badge on the nose to pictures of other Elfin's you'll pick it straight away. Back then in the late 50's early 60's,they copied alot of euro body designs!
Different kind of track, but the joys are all the same - going fast, drifts and ripping skids! Just a small taste of some riding I did on a recent trip to North Island of NZ. - watch in HD.
Do dirt tracks count as a track? A bit of a casual ride out in the bush near my place. The rear camera got bumped by my (err erm) butt, but the second vid I mounted it further back and more sturdy, even though it still tipped down a bit on the big bumps. Any way, enjoy:
