Yeah they've been around for a few years now too. The tyre temp app is a must, it even has a dirt meter for when you go off track and foul the rubber, also the little box at the bottom with the + & - symbols are for tyre selection, scroll through it by clicking the +/- to locate the tyre currently fitted to have the correct tyre temps showing up. I tried the Escort MKii twin turbo mod the other night, OMG so over powered it's undrivable lol, the moment the revs hit 4K its into a maddening wheel spin, tried everything but it's just not happening, fun but a waste of time IMO. Speed 8, is awesome to drive, sounds are great, feels well balanced and FFB is good also, bout the only thing I found that was a small negative, was the roof line seems to be too low, restricts track vision on up hill spots on track, but otherwise is great fun to drive. Toyota TS020, Awesome, sounds mint drives real well, FFB is great, could spend many hours in this car, would be good to match it with the Daytona prototype and run some events, seeing as they race each other in the USCC (United Sports Car Championship).\ Cheers
bugger was hoping the escort would be epic fun to drive hopefully someone makes some realistic physics for it speed 8 roof maybe is that low in real life and drivers cant see? makes it more scary haha think we are starting to get more legit cars coming in now so hopefully can set up more challenges and car/track combos
Im thinking GP2 mod after the Nords challenge, would love to give them a good blast in MP or the F1's, definitely open to some suggestions for future events. Would also like to discuss the possibility of looking for a more local stable server, so if anyone has idea's, would love to hear them? Cheers
Found a mint must have app for showing everyones laptime, with all sorts of laptime info, haven't tested it yet but the write up HERE! Explains everything in some detail I might add, will look for more apps that could be usefull Cheers
Just checked out Formula Corsa Modding's site, they do the GP2 & F1 mods, there's an update to the F1 mod now has the Ferrari included with the mclaren/Merc, 177Mb download, get it HERE! Just click on the mods link or scroll the page with ya mouse wheel. I have a problem with the Ferrari f14t from the F1mod, it keeps locking up my game, at 1st I thought it might be the track, Albert Park, so I tried another, Monza, but still had game freeze. Anyone having this issue? Cheers
hey mate havent had a chance to check out the f1 mods yet been running around like crazy only have 10 min prac for gt6 race tonight and ive thrown my back out so this should be fun found a guy thats released a version of monaco which will go well with the gp2 and f1's on main ac site hopefully i can check it all out tomorrow
I have found a very cool site while looking at dedicated servers in Oz. I think it will be perfect for our AC server needs in the future, it's Aussie based, in Sydney, and it's introducing Assetto Corsa slotted servers, same as we use now. I just took a look @ http://cyrentek.com/gameservers.php Seems they are having a 25% off for life, registration sale, and their Assetto Corsa slot prices are up, $1.50rr P/Slot, but if registered with current promo only $1.13 p/slot. Up to 32 slots max, includes TCAdmin, FTP, file manager and hardware based Ddos protection. If anyone feel's so inclined as to setting up a server with this Aussie Co, I'm more than happy to contribute $10 p/m, no hesitation what-so-ever . I suppose as a last resort, I can set up an account and hire the server if no-one else is willing, but I would need some financial help, couldn't afford to finance it myself. I like the idea of trying to encourage new members by opening up the current server, and I had some door to door racing with Tovey the other night without issue. It may be worth holding off until the game gets a full release?? I do know a guy who runs a server or something like that, I will try and look him up and find out the details.
Yeah mate we need to do more to try and get others interested, need to promote Rooz AC events, Ive tried to get something up on RD but they have started running AC races to suit Oz times, and delete everything I post or erase the links, I cant even put a link in my sig, they stopped that too . Will have to post on the official AC forums I think, can't think of anywhere else, maybe no-grip? But yeah, I will open the server to the public, and put a reference to Rooz up too . Good to know you guys are using the server having 2 cars on track probably doesn't pose much of a load on the system, and depending on time of day/night the packet stream was probably stable so no packet loss, no lag, but I reckon if we put an 8-10 car load on the server during peek net time and it would have a lag fest. One thing Ive noticed with Ping, Oz seems to have a faster ping time to the U.S than it does to Europe, you can see this by the server ping numbers, I noticed an Aussie server based in the US had a ping speed of 190-200, and found most US based servers have a better ping than our French connection offers going by the server numbers on AC anyway. But atm I think we are pretty stable with only 4 - 5 on the server at once. I understand what your saying Anon, but in reality that could be another 12mths, Kunos is only a small team, and considering it's been so long in the making to get here, I cant see v1.0 before Xmas at best, just look at the net code, 1st one was binned and they re-wrote it, hence the MP is only alpha. I have removed the password for the server opening it up to the public and hopefully some additions to our little AC club, Ive also renamed it to "www.raceonoz.com an Australian Sim racing group". No other changes at this point. Cheers
Hi guys, I hope in the next week or so I'll be able to join in and give AC a go. I had purchased and installed the game Monday night and yesterday (Tuesday), when I got home I setup my wheel etc on the PC and then ran AC for the first time only to continually get the "acs.exe has stopped working" error. Searching the AC forum I see it is a known issue and upon reading several posts by the mods and trying a few various things I decided to uninstall the game and all the C++ redistribs and then after a reboot I ran steam "as administrator", then re-downloaded the game overnight. This morning I did a quick test and upon pressing the start engine or start button I don't get the acs.exe error anymore - but I don't get the game to load either (it just keeps returning to the main menu)...perhaps because I am yet to re-install the C++ libraries etc which I will try and do tonight. Am keen to try the game but it seems to have other plans to keep me from playing at present, but once I am up and running and get my head around the game I will be interested to try the online mode and run some races with you guys. I've also been reading about the skin modding and custom liveries and I am keen to try and give this a go down the track. Hope to see you on track soon...
@DoogleDave be great to have you join us mate, I'm sure the C++ runtime library is the issue, hope it's doesn't cause anymore grief for ya. We'll be winding up the Nordschleife Challenge next week, but you are more than welcome to join us. No luck unfortunately. Loads the game but can't start anything, just keeps either returning to the main menu or showing the acs.exe has stopped working error. I'll keep plugging away at it but at this stage it's not looking good
DoogleDave, have you been up to the official AC forum site? might find what you need their, atleast it may shed some light on the issue, be aware though they like/expect you to post your system and game specs in your sig if you post on the forums, Link here! I heard there was an issue with some Gfx and mobo combo's, but that was at initial beta, and all was solved as far as I remember. You're running latest Gfx drivers etc I would guess, so I'm at a loss, hope the link is helpful if ya haven't already checked it out. Let us know how you get on mate. Cheers
Cheers AJ, I have been reading the AC forum in the troubleshooting section but still not having any luck. Pretty much tried everything that has been suggested to others that are having similar issues but no success as yet. My PC specs aren't great but should certainly "run" the game. Intel Q8400 Quad 2.66Ghz 4GB Ram ATI HD5570 GPU 1GB I know this GPU isn't for gaming (I had it in my HTPC previously), but it should run the game OK single screen at 720p. It certainly shouldn't hinder the game from loading - If the graphics etc weren't great then I wouldn't be surprised but to not even let the session load/run is another thing completely. At the moment I'm just using an old Compaq desktop PC I acquired from my Mum when she passed away a while ago, so without building a gaming rig I am limited on what I can do with this machine (particularly the crappy 300W compaq PSU). I could get a GTX750Ti, which will run on a 300W PSU and only needs to be powered by the PCIe slot, but I'm not willing to drop $200 on a new card if the game won't even run/load properly. I have specced up a build for a gaming PC but at the moment I'm still undecided whether to go PC or PS4. I'm over Sony and the PSN crap but I have to admit this hasn't been a welcoming start back into the realm of PC gaming (which I have been out of for maybe the last 10 years). Anyway, I'll keep on trying to get this to run and I might have to post my own thread on the AC forum with the log files and PC spec and see if the mods can point me in whatever other direction is left to try. Fingers crossed I can get this damn thing to work...
