5th is better than where I thought I'd have ended up, but this will definitely be a long way back to a championship podium if I can manage it.

Other than the lack of shortcut penalties (after last race, get it? ), I'm not looking forward to this round. It's a hard track to overtake on, which will make people desperate, and I've always been slow here anyway. Just a reminder, PLEASE avoid dive bombs at all costs, racing etiquette determines you must establish position before attempting an overtake. I know this is a game, and nobody's perfect (we all outbrake ourselves occasionally), but just something to be conscious of within the confines of a street circuit.

What track are we on again?

I'm just barely in the high 1'45s. It feels quick but if my past experience with Fryz at this track is anything to go by he'll be doing 1'43s. :twisted: :lol: Hopefully the forecasted storms stay away too.

I'm having major interwebs issues tonight, heaps of dropouts, and now I can't even sign in it's become THAT slow. My best lap thus far was a 1'45.1 which I felt would have been good pace, I was actually enjoying the reverse version of this track in this car after all.

Very sorry to Cyber Stig for the mess I put you in at turn 1 mate. I run with the bumper cam view which can make the car seem thinner than it actually is when trying to make passes and squeeze into tight spaces. I misjudged the stupid protruding wall and i apologize. It messed me up almost as bad as you though so i'm doubly pissed off with myself.

As for the race itself, i was always planning to do a no stopper, and had no idea what everyone else was going to do. My stuff up at turn 1 really set me back and i reckon i would have snagged 2nd instead of 4th if I had stayed off the wall. Anyways, qualifying 5th, ending up in 7th then finishing 4th isn't all to bad I guess. 4th seems to be becoming a bit of a theme for me. Hopefully I can snag a podium next race. Great racing guys, always something i look forward to on the weekend. Gratz to Ansquad for his amazing pace on the no stopper, and Koastr and Small Fryz for chasing me down on the 2nd last and last laps respectively. EPIC finish Fryz!

Another round and another round winner for division 1. Another round and another fail for me. Quali started out, after a few laps I got dc'ed because the phone rang, after which my car destroyed Koastr. I managed to get back in the room just in a nick of time, and lay down a gun 1'44.9. Dion saw this, and in what I can only imagine was a Homer Simpson voice, went "REEEEVENGE!!!", and on the last lap of quali pumped a statistically and physically impossible 1'44.5. Race start, and just as at Nurburgring I got to an ace start, leaving the field to scrap for second at turn 1. However, this is where all my internet issues caught up to me, they'd resulted in a complete lack of practice and thrown my psyche out the window. Koastr had me on the main straight starting lap 2, I was perhaps a little gentlemanly in letting him past at the kink in the straight. Got up to turns 5 & 6, the double left hander, and whether I had a slipstream or the air brake didn't work behind Koastr, I broke early and still nudged him despite gripping on for dear life to miss. Can't remember what happened next, but Fryz and ansquad got past after some sloppy driving. Followed them a couple laps, did some more slide avoidance which wasn't good on tyres. Collected them both at the last turn when they broke early and I swerved to avoid but just went in to a slide. Pulled over to make sure ansquad got back ahead of me. Koastr and I pitted on lap 8, I came out and did some alright driving, and the fresh tyres gave me track position on Small_Fryz who rejoined just behind me on lap 10 start after he pitted lap 9. I did some more pathetic driving and basically just conceded the position to Fryz, it was doing neither of us any favours. Followed him for the rest of the race with plenty more pathetic driving. Neither Chevwah or ansquad did any pits, and this gave ansquad the victory. Chevwah had an accident I think but still finished 4th, Koastr 2nd, Dion 3rd, myself in a mediocre 5th. It is believed I may have had fastest lap at a slipstream enhanced 1'44.7 or something like that. Perhaps if I didn't go awol on the walls on the last lap I could have slipstreamed past both Fryz and Chev once they were alongside for a 3rd place finish.

Sorry again to Cyber_Stig, Koastr, Fryz and ansquad for any unwant contact. I hate this car, and I'm not a fan of these tracks. Both on their own are bad for good racing, combined it's a nightmare. As though the extra speed isn't enough from slipstream, the air brake doesn't work under someone's tail either.

Edit: Oh and one other thing, I couldn't see the brake markers for driver names, kept braking stupidly early instead of pressuring positions. That and you can never guess just how well the car will pull up. KNEW I was right in voting for the IS-F.

Yeahh!! My First proper win!! My cunning strategy worked hehehe.

The turn out for this race was a bit less than last meet (seems as though iRacing is slowly converting our racers lol..) nevertheless fearless competition with this ruthless car. Paulie's 44.9 qualifying time seconds before the race sure made me facepalm, that was quite a ask since fryz had a blistering time up. Then as the race started the incident with Chevwah in turn 1 was unfortunate. Gotta say KoAStR's fake pit entry was funny, we kinda followed you to that unfamiliar side of the straight tryna get the draft on xD. Then as everyone started heading into pits, I was gettin worried of hearing a voice over the radio saying "ansquad! It's a mandatory pit!!" (happened before..). But reputable Chevwah put me at ease as he stuck out with me. Took it easy from there tryna keep it clean and look after the tyres. Got the black mclaren to the line in the end (U GO NZ!! U FREAKING GO!!) with consistent KoAStR coming second and a very tight third to fryz, 0.1 of a second over Chevwah i think. Great race everyone, toyko u beauty!
