Wiki updated folks. We have a new leader! Also, congrats to Bonus for his third consecutive 6th place, and Miki for continuing his run of finishing 7th or 9th in every race :D .

As always, let me know if I have stuffed it up anywhere.

Thanks Barra, i getting consistent mid field, Qualify 6th finish 6th lol. Had to fight stumbles pretty hard for it though and thought i had lost out till he ran dirt side on the last turn.
I had some good battle this race was hanging with the front pack in the start till i tailed out a little then went back a bit but managed to stay mid pack till the end. Good race up the front i hear, congrats to Chev for a hard fought win and Neishy and Barra for the podium. I heard Neishy threw everything at you Chev but nothing fazed you, great steely win.
I just want to reiterate what miky said the racing has been really the cleanest and most competitive i have seen and its a credit to the calibre of drivers we have and the respect they have for each other. Sure there is the odd panel rub and accidental rear end but nothing hard and always followed by a readdress; its a pleasure to race with all you div 2 guys thanks.

    Hi all,

Now that ive gotten my wheel fixed up im definately up for the remaining two races this season- its good to be back on track. Im just hoping to actually 'show up' for the race if you know what i mean.

I just havent practiced with this kind of car and tyre combination enough and its a shame im being left behind by so much, but ill aim to practice rome for this weekend and get in on the fight.

With that in mind, can anyone hear offer some tips about driving style for the tamora that is working for them, or what level of brake bias really helps the car? It would be much appreciated.

I think my main problem is my driving style which is still stuck in my racing slicks experience so im not slowing down enough for the corners ending up in cronic understeer, but then also not controling my power on enough ending up in cronic oversteer on exit. Its a laugh alright. I did manange to have some fun at the back with Overdrive and Seido for a little while but it was pretty obvious i was well off the pace. Getting lapped is always an embarrasment.

So while I'm clearly not very good with the Tamora i want to stick out this season with you guys. Just any tips to help me improve and refine my style for this combo would be great.

    Thanks,
    Dutch

Put the practice in, find your braking points, take it easy on the throttle, and be as smooth as you can in every movement you make. That's about all i can say really. Currently I am putting in 2-3 hours of practice in over the week period before each race, and i think thats perfectly reasonable. Only 20 mins or so each day on average.

Thanks for the tips guys. I did revisit Laguna last night and ditched my normal driving style and instead developed my braking, turning and accelerating as separate processes, gradually speeding it all up. Obviously the key is slowing the car down enough to get it to actually turn in, then after hitting (or at least in proximity to) the apex, accelating out with a smoother application and more straight, less turn.. I found this car can actually take the power but only if it was pointed generally straight on, buts its a bit of a knife edge to drive..and i fear that mistakes are still going to cost me. But at the end of the day, it was the damn slow in fast out method that works for the car- racing 101 staring me in the face!

That ended up getting me a best of 1:40.12 and a consistent stint around the 1:40.5's so i think i have a realistic position around the mid to tail end of the field. Just where i think i should be. Ill keep at it though, its much better to be having fun with it than constantly be frustrated and I think this is a good opportunity to come to grips with the sport hards even though theres only 2 races left and i think there will be a return to slicks next season. Anyway, looking forward to Rome.

Good to hear about the breakthrough Dutch, consistent 40.5's would have put you closer to the pointy end. Don't improve too much though, I need to get some points back from Neishy for 3rd in the championship ;)

Got some bad news, I have always had problems with my elbow, seizing up all the time and causing me great pain, but last night I was playing basketball and injured it even worse, and is quite a serious injury now. So now I can barely use the controller, let alone a steering wheel. So this weeks race I might not attend, depending on how much pain I'm in (I really want to compete against chevwah for the championship lol)
I'll let you all know what's happening for sure on the weekend though, but anyway, good luck!

I'm sad to hear about the injury corzza. I'd like to be able to beat you while you're at your best lol. I hope you can make it on sunday so we can battle it out once again, even if you have to do what Firewind said lol.

Corzza, sucks about your injury man. Have you tried the one arm yet? Makes me think of Colin McRae... nearly every time I saw in car footage he was driving with one hand lol ... He was was awesome.

Well after 3 stints of about 10 laps practice at Rome my best lap so far was 1:20.5XX
How's it goin for you guys??

Havent tried yet. Not getting in the TVR til Saturday worked fine last week, and I am much more comfortable with Rome than Laguna Seca. May not get time to play tomorrow, so Sunday may be my one and only test session.

By the way, to stick my nose in Chev and corzza's conversation about age, I'm 28. It's really interesting to see how old people are that you are racing against.

My best is 1:19.2 but i can pump out consistent high 1:19s. The last sector is where you are losing a lot of time, I can guarantee. Mainly the last corner, you have to enter it wide and exit it very close to the apex to get a good run onto the straight. Work on that and your times will improve massively.

Funny you say that. I remember a doco or something where they did reflex test on F1 drivers vs Joe Bloggs.
The test was done by some one dropping a ruler between your fingers. The length measure on the ruler fall where you grabbed gives an proportional reaction time. The F1 drivers were no faster, in fact slower in some cases...

So, 'old reflexes' are no excuse!
