or just put crap on the driver as they do it, eh cagme @COME_AND_GET_ME7
I'm no diamond. I can only sustain so much pressure before I crack .
you actually beat me at the psyche out takedowns sunday. i'm losing my edge. it should have been easy to get you to check optimal lap but you resisted, on the chat anyway....i'll bet you secretly had a peek
Round 6: Alsace - 21 Laps - 8:30 - 30/8
WELCOME to Season 12!!
As always please take 2 mins to read the following so you have an understanding of what is expected on race night......If you have any questions, or want clarification on any of the rules or regulations please ask!
ROOM OPEN : Most room captains will 'try' to have rooms open by about 7:50 AEST. Please be on time, or let the room captain or div thread if you may be late. If all agree, the room may wait for you, Within reason. Please remember we have drivers from NZ, and later starts mean a much later night for them.
QUALIFYING : 8:20 AEST for 10 mins. If a driver joins while qualifying mode is active, room captains will need to grab a quick photo of qualifying results, cancel the race and then set grid by host.
In practice mode, once 10 mins has been reached, finish the lap you are on and park up off track.
During qualifying PITS ARE CLOSED
RACE START TIME : 8:30 AEST (once qualifying has finished)
LAG ISSUES / ROOM RESTARTS : This is up to the room host/captains. If there is a Disconnection (or cars stuck on grid) at race start, it is sporting to try to get them back in, which may mean a new room to be set up. I always look at 1 or 2 starts if required due to DSC, but as it gets later everyone needs to be aware of getting things going. Please be as reasonable as you can with this....
SIGHT ISSUES: Ensure that you can see everyone on track. Before qualifying, exit to lobby and spend 30 seconds in spectate mode, scroll through the list of drivers on track and make sure that you can see their car. If you can't see somebody (and they are confirmed as being on track), exit the lobby, re-join, and check again.
FALSE START CHECK : Please note that the start type is Grid Start with False Start Check
Please practice this so you know what to expect. Simply, you hold the brakes on until the lights go from all lit, to none lit
TURN 1 LAP 1 : This has the potential to ruin someones night if we don't use our heads! Should be everyone's goal to get through the first phase with ZERO contact. Give room and run in your 'lane' till you have space to run the normal race line. If your unassisted tap causes someone to spin, you need to redress.
TRACK LIMITS : As we are running with 'track limit penalties" OFF, we will run with our usual Raceonoz track limit regulations. This means you MUST have at least 2 wheels on the ripple strip OR white line that defines the track limit. If you do make a mistake and have to run outside the limits, be aware that you are not allowed to gain any advantage.
CONTACT : Is to be avoided at all times..... If you rear end someone and gain an advantage, YOU ARE EXPECTED to give the spot back. Side by side 'rubbing' is racing, within reason, but all drivers are expected to give racing room.
If you bump someone and they end up off track or teleport back to the corner entry, you must wait for them to rejoin and get back up to speed.
Show each other RESPECT! It is difficult enough to drive the car at the limit on your own, without someone squeezing you within a millimeter of the grass.
So be patient and show respect to your fellow drivers.
If you are redressing contact, please do so out of the way of other cars, off the racing line, or if there isn't much room, off track.
TYRES : Sports Mediums (mandatory) & Sports Softs
PIT ENTRY : Pit entry lines are to be followed at ALL TIMES. 4 wheels across the white lines the determine Pit Entry will be seen as a violation of track limits and you will be subject to a penalty depending on severity and quantity of cuts.
PIT EXIT : You are required to use the pit exit lane, Penalties will be adjudicated in similar fashion to Pit Exit. Please be aware of cars approaching into T1.
NOTE: Pitting is NOT COMPULSORY
BLUE FLAGS : Please observe blue flags, and move out of the way of faster cars if you are being lapped. Failure to observe blue flags WILL result in a penalty
STEWARDS GROUP AND RACE PROTESTS : This season the stewards will be will be @JonoStan96 @Viperzed & @emmo46. If you have reason to protest, please SAVE YOUR REPLAY, and then let them know via a PM.
DO NOT BLOW UP IN THE FORUM OR IN THE ROOM CHAT. There have been multiple incidents where the replays from drivers have been different, so its true that sometimes things are not as black and white as they may seem. You have until MIDNIGHT, Monday night to register your protest via PM. Stewards will ask for video evidence from both drivers or room captain to make any decision.
SAVE YOUR REPLAY : If the room host can ask all drivers to save their replay would be good before exiting the room.....once they exit out and the option goes, it cant be retrieved!
PARKING UP : If you are unable to continue to race, please enter the pits and leave your game paused without selecting tyres (or no tyres) so that your car stays parked in the pits. Parking up off track activates yellow flags in the sector, and even though penalties are off, we have reports of penalties occurring for passes happening near the parked car.
FINAL NOTE: Could all drivers please confirm their attendance for this Sunday by 'liking' this post in your division. If you are unable to attend, please post in reply as much in your division. This way we can figure out our reserves or if the room can start early in advance.
(ALSO IF YOU KNOW YOU CANNOT ATTEND, PLEASE POST SAYING SO, SO THAT RESERVES CAN BE ORGANISED IN ADVANCE)
So just in case it was breezed over - the pit entry and exit lanes are to be used at all times for this track?
I'd extend that to say that you need to stay tight to T1 when exiting pits if another car approaching, we all recall what happened at Tsukuba
Yeah, it definitely pops you out of the pits right on T1 Apex. I'd suggest when exiting the pits to say if you're on chat so if someone is coming down the straight they can be aware.
Round 6 Results
Emmo - 47.19.975 - 2.10.632
Yup - Another race, another missed opportunity...
3 crashes, 2 with engine damage.
glad thats over, probably my weakest track on the calendar.
Qualified in 8th better than expected but just went backwards from the start. Tried a 1 stop as i didnt have much to lose, didn't really have any impact at all.
The practice paid off tonight, couldn't have hoped for better. Well done @Max Gassit getting the jump on everyone with an impressive fuel save strategy (12 laps on a tank!) and @Xtr3meNZer for climbing up 6 positions to grab the 3rd step on the podium!
That's another championship won also. Looks like it's impossible to loss now..
That was probably my best race, I felt on the pace throughout and had only learnt the track this week, I'm pretty happy to that consistent. Had some great battles throughout the whole race and was sitting in p3 on lap 20 but didn't manage my fuel well enough and had to fuel .3L for the last lap on the mediums and @Xtr3meNZer jumped me in the pits. Impressive stuff @UrsineSaturn9 didn't even see you, just saw the gap increase haha. @Max Gassit great strategy mate
Well, I'm shocked to see myself up in the podium this week I'll tell you that much for free. I didn't have a whole heap of time to practice throughout the week with other racing commitments, and a boozy night on Friday catching up with some mates pretty much knocked out my Saturday night planned practice.
So really only proper practice before the big night, and when I was pulling between 2:12-13’s I thought I had no chance. Then qualifying in 9th, I was only hoping to get a top 10 in the end. Lucky for me, but very unlucky for the ones ahead, there were a few accidents that helped me up the field. On a good note though, they didn’t seem to have happened by a dive or anything, rather an unstuck tyre and such.
Special mention to @kiwinado for our epic battle for quite a few laps in the last stint there, it certainly kept me on my toes, and the heart pounding (I hope to see myself featured in your highlight video heavily hahaha). I have been quite good on fuel throughout the season, and had planned it to have no fuel on the last stop - and when I went in and had 1.3 laps left, I was pretty confident.
@UrsineSaturn9 , well what more can be said, Pole position, and very quick consistent times, you owned it. Well done good sir. And @Max Gassit , I honestly was surprised seeing you up there at the end! Well done to you also! Very good strategy that panned out well for ya.
I feel for ya @Matthyus , it certainly hasn’t been your season, and you’ve been pulling very quick times throughout… Hopefully the next race will set you right at Laguna!
Cheers all for a great night of racing, and the typical fun banter on track. Catch you all through the week I’m sure.
I'd rather race at N24h again than Laguna..
Same Wonder if I'd get another win
TBH, I think we should re-run this season with 100% power / weight and RH or RM tyres.
I've driven it with my son and it is such a wonderful little car.
Maybe in GT7...
Just went over the qualification results of the season so far. Just to make myself feel a bit better about my crappy season so far..
Out of the 6 races so far, I've had 4 x 2nd place qualifications, 1 x 3rd and a 9th (rd1).
But my race consistency has gone to the dogs..
If we were to do it again, (which I think would cause a big kerfuffle from the guys that don't like it), and to have two different compounds - that the better compound only be able to be used for one stint. I think at the moment with the mediums, it's just an extra pit stop for no real strategic value.
I think GT7 would be good though, first season even...?
Any song requests
