I'm quoting myself for those who might want an example of where, Courage (aka balls) comes into play in motor racing.

Yeah that was an amazing pass. Definitely does require balls to go motor racing, however I think if you had been doing it since 7 years old it would be like anything, balls aren't really an issue. That's why those famous race car drivers are famous! The difference is for sim racers, most people haven't been doing it since they could talk and so they have no real life experience. No question there has to be a certain amount of natural driving talent to be good at sim racing and I think a lot of guys could pick up real racing, but it's not an overnight thing, it would take years to be as good as a full time professional.

Anyway, The last two skip races I have done, I have lost over 180 irating. Gotta laugh though.

This is not how you take turns 6 at laguna seca.

Then, I finally caught up to the back of the grid, and some dude decides to stop his car on the apex. you'll see.

Laguna Seca hates me I think. Looking forward to Road America and Summit Point.

PS: Where the F@#k is Dustin Bartlett. And Dave Newman for that matter. C'mon fella's, lift your game.. Hhaha

    Haha nice one.

We've had my brother in-law staying for the last 3 weeks so been entertaining and not much chance to get on iRacing.
Should be on 'lifting the game' later next week mate ;)

Those engines are made of paper mache and cheese sticks, I swear. So unrealistic.

I thought I popped a tyre, then my car rolled to a stop. Haven't been having too much luck in races after that either, had 3rd sealed in one chasing 2nd and 1st, had 2nd sealed in another gaining rapidly on first and threw it into a wall both times, I might need to work on that. Oh and Bonus i figured out why my car was handling different and had shorter gears, it's cos I was in the cup car not the roadster I was used to!

Are you serious Chev, "So unrealistic"? The engines in iRacing take an absolute flogging, it's just when you over-rev them on downshift when they let go.

Honestly, I've not seen you write anything positive about iRacing. Was it just simply too hard for you? or was it just to different from gt5 for you to wrap your head around?

People can get a bad first impression from iRacing if they don't set it up right.

Na Beau i like iRacing, i was just having a troll. I had some bad experiences with other drivers in my first few hours of racing, which made me decide to stop playing. It's all well and good to reward drivers for clean conduct, but when it heavily punishes you for incidents that are completely out of your control, that's a little too much to bare.

I'll stick to GT5, it's a much more pleasant, and balanced experience.

Although you get punished for other people's accidents... Isn't that realistic? In real life if you get taken out it's not safety rating and iRating you lose, it's money and race results and possible opportunities at taking your career further. It always sucks getting taken out but to be honest, if you enter a "public" race in GT5 and a public race in iRacing, it's obvious which one will be better. It's comparing apples with oranges. Because I assume your online racing on GT5 would consist of racing at RaceOnOz in a private league. You can race in leagues on iRacing as well, meaning you're racing with people you can trust, AND your license is not affected in a hosted server, just like GT5. :D

Not having a go at you or anything just stating my opinion on it all. For me iRacing has been much more enjoyable because i've found both, people I enjoy and can trust racing against and the sim is a whole new level of epicness.

It's good that you have found a niche in iRacing that you enjoy Madison. I failed to get to that point unfortunetly, because of dickheads who ruined my race on several occasions while I was still a rookie. It wasn't like I was super slow or bad or anything, I got a couple of wins and podiums etc, and always qualified well. In terms of pure racing you can't get much better than iRacing, I realize that. I got into it expecting one thing and got something very opposite, but that didn't have so much to do with the game itself, but the people I was racing against. That was my personal experience with the game, it was pretty negative. Chances are if I started playing again I wouldn't come across those same problems, but i've got too much on to think about that right now.

hey I was with you all the way Chev in my first week or 2 but after stepping up to the skippy and now the V8 I'M getting more of what Maddison is saying. Jumped back in the Mx5 for a few races with Neishy this last couple of days and lost some good points i had banked in the V8s earlier. Had a race in the v8 after the RaceOnOz league race tonight and was fighting to get my podium back (after a spin and loosing my almost guarantied second place) some pommy guy parked on one side of the track starts to drive across the track to where I'm avoiding him and ssmassshes my back wheel. The guy in fifth is now behind me, the guys I was battling with are gone and this guy behind me stays there right to the finnish line, even though it meant championship points for him he let me go first. I Have a lot of faith in this game now, the good people are their and the ratings system does train you (the Hard Way) to avoid mistakes or those that make mistakes. Once you are in a group of others that are not making the rookie mistakes its a lot better.

It's a shame I couldn't get that far Bonus. It was just bad luck for me. I have too many games to play right now, and too busy with work, so I don't think i'll be picking iRacing back up any time soon. Good to hear you're having fun though mate.

From your other posts, Beau, I expected to see more drifting. Great attack on the lap ... it's a fun ride to go on :D

And I just checked ... apparently I own this track ... so why in God's name have I never been round it ... it looks like a beast (?!?)

That ain't no ':):):):)' lap mate - i think the car feels like it's drifting but from a spectator perspective it seems pretty in control

Yeah i had to buy this track the other night - it is a beast - i should have done some private practice before entring a practice session because i was just going off every where - so many changes in direction!
