Season 9 is here, and should be a great season with 65 drivers spread across 4 divisions.
Remember we are racing for an awesome prize courtesy of SELBY ACOUSTICS
    [IMG]

Below will be the round driver briefings, for those of you who have been here for a while, there is nothing new to this.
For our new drivers please take 5 minutes to read and understand our rules and regs.
    The main 2 things are
    - TRACK LIMITS. You cannot run off track to gain advantage. If you do it consistently you will be penalised or disqualified. Our track limits are 2 wheels on the ripple strips. You can be 'almost' off track, but if you have 2 wheels on the ripple strips you will be ok.
    - CONTACT and REDRESSING. If you knock another driver off track, dont drive past them if you have caused the contact. Give the spot back, and then continue your race. the 2 most common mistakes in contact are rear end contact where you 'punt' someone off, or if you get in too hot, and make contact in the side as they take their normal line.
We try to use the Supercars example with contact and track limits, so if you have any issues with this, please contact the mod team via PM.

Hope you all have a great season guys, from the prac rooms, should be a cracker

    - Race Time - @5pm - Heavy Cloud / Med cloud / Light Cloud / Med Cloud
    - Time progression - REAL
    - Compulsory pit stop - YES
    - Fuel : Real
    - TYRE WEAR : ACCELERATED
    - Weather progression : Sync to race
    [IMG]

Ok all, Welcome to Season 9, backed by SELBY ACOUSTICS
    - We are almost there with teams for the teams championship, liveries are now up in that thread
    - This race is 'twilight', so make sure you have a light button mapped so you can use your headlights !

    - Only rule confirmation moving forward is the RESET CAR BUTTON and when you can use it.
    - Can only be used IF YOU ARE ON YOUR ROOF OR STUCK ON A BARRIER. Otherwise you must drive back to the track when safe to rejoin. Resetting your car outside of the above WILL RESULT IN A TIME PENALTY.

For our new drivers, please have a quick read and understand our track limit and contact rules.
    -
RACEONOZ have run track limits as the ripple strips or white lines on the track for many seasons. You need to have 2 wheels on those ripple strips or lines at all times.
    - Rubbins racing as they say, however we wont tolerate 'rough' driving. See below !
    -
Car resets : You are allowed to reset your car IF you are on your roof, or stuck on a barrier. You must reset when safe to do so. If you reset in the path of oncoming traffic and cause an accident, you will be penalised. Remember it will reset you to the middle of track, so oncoming cars cannot avoid you. Its tough watching cars drive past, but dont ruin someones night.

    - Room Disconnects : If you disconnect from the qual room, you may get back in OR the room captain / host may agree to restart the room if you cant get back in.
    - IF YOU DISCONNECT, AND CANT GET BACK IN FOR QUAL, YOU MUST START REAR OF GRID.

ROOM OPEN : Most room captains will 'try' to have rooms open by about 7:45 EDST. Please be on time, or let the room captain or div thread if you may be late. If all agree, the room may wait for you, within reason. Please remember we have drivers from NZ, and later starts mean a much later night for them.
    QUALIFYING : 8:10 EDST
RACE START TIME : 8:20 EDST

ROOM RESTARTS : Sometimes there are issues with the room and a new room may need to be started.
    - If a driver is DSC from Qual, they may get back into the qual room with no issue to set a time.
    - If they CANT get back in before race start, then the room host will restart the RACE room (no qual) and that driver MUST start from REAR OF GRID.
    - Will be a ROLLING START with formation lap based on Qual results from qual session from drivers who finished the qual session.
    - Fuel will have to be turned OFF
    - Formation lap is from RACE START, and cars will form up before TURN 1. When formed, cars will stay single file till last corner, where lead car will slow to 80KLMS, and hold the field till they go. (effectively safety car). Once the lead car accelerates , all other drivers can assume that the race has started.
    - No passing before start / finish line.

QUALIFYING - This season Pit Lane will be OPEN, so if you want to you can take fresh tyres.
Im not sure will be any advantage given that it takes about 4 laps for all the tyres to come up to temp.

TURN 1 LAP 1 : Round 1 is generally the most common where we see contact issues, particularly if we have drivers who haven't done a lot of practice. If you are mid or back of the pack, please make extra effort to slow into turn 1 and not dive-bomb into the mid pack. Giving room on both sides till you get through the turn 1, 2 and 3,4 complex will see everyone get through without their night being ruined. Take extra effort to not ruin someones night in the first race of the season ;)

TRACK LIMITS : Track limits will remain as they always have, you must have 2 wheels on OR inside the ripple strips at all times. Make a mistake or 2 and that's OK, but making CLEAR advantage from cutting the track will see you penalised. If you do it consistently, you may even be DSQ from the race.
Is a few places here where you need to remain inside track limits.
    - The main one here at Watkins is TURN 1, the BUS STOP, The EXIT of TURN 5 (carousel) and the EXIT of 6.
We all know the rules, so drivers are asked to watch for drivers who may be gaining advantage.

    CONTACT
: Is to be avoided at all times..... If you rear end someone and gain an advantage, YOU ARE EXPECTED to give the spot back. Side by side 'rubbing' is racing, within reason, but all drivers are expected to give racing room.
Main spots are the brake zone into the bustop, and braking into Turn 6.

    COMPULSORY PIT STOP : YES.
    - Up to you if you want to take tyres. If you need a hand to set up your pit strat please let us or your team mates know so we can sort you out.
    - you WONT NEED FUEL !
If you havent done pit stops before :
    - Make sure you know where the pit entry line is. you must be at 60KLM at the line or you get penalised.
    - Make sure you have you pit controller activated. Is the guy with a big red board only you can see in YOUR pitbay
    - You can adjust the following
    - Brake bias (on the fly with mapped buttons)
    - ABS
    - Traction Control
    - Tire pressures for tyres IF you change them at your stop.

CAR SET UP : There are 2 options for car sets up that people can make.
'LOOSE' or 'STABLE'. It is up to you what setting you use, and it may vary based on the track being used. I would recommend trying both to see what gives the best lap times.
    - For me, the STABLE setting seems the best one !

PIT ENTRY / EXIT : We will be running with Pit penalties ON, so will need to make an attempt to enter and exit using the pit lane lines. We have seen people hit with warnings in game, so be aware of staying in the lane.
DONT FORGET TO MAKE SURE YOU ARE AT 60KLMS AT THE PIT ENTRY LINE OR YOU WILL GET DSQ FROM THE RACE IF YOU GO IN TOO HOT.
    - IF SOMEONE IS CAUGHT MISSING THE LANE, THEN GOING INTO THE PITS AND GAINING AN ADVANTAGE YOU WILL BE PENALISED.

PIT EXIT - Is a reasonable run into Turn 1, so you need to make sure you stay right. Drivers on a race-lap will have right of way, UNTIL the turn in for turn 1. Then the car IN FRONT has the right to run their line.

BLUE FLAGS : Please observe blue flags, and move out of the way of faster cars if you are being lapped. Best to get off the race line, and with a small lift let them go, so you can continue the fight with those in your class. Failure to observe blue flags WILL result in a penalty

STEWARDS GROUP AND RACE PROTESTS : The stewards group will again consist of Myself, Ad2mny and Gary... if you feel the need to protest, you need to make us aware by PM before midnight Monday following the race. You will also need to have Video evidence of your protest, or ask the room host to have a look on their replay. You may appeal any stewards decision, and the final decision will be made by Koastr. If there is an issue in the race
DO NOT BLOW UP IN THE ROOM OR ON THE FORUM.

SAVE YOUR REPLAY : If the room host can ask all drivers to save their replay would be good before exiting the room.....once they exit out and the option goes, it cant be retrieved !

Any question re the above just shoot... We assume that everyone reads this, so no excuses for not knowing the rules and procedures.

Keep an eye out for Juzzy hotlap.... He has been flat out so it may or may not be here !

Ok guys, pretty good job last week, seemed there was some great racing which is what we are after !

Just remember that this car is about 'pack racing' so you will have to adjust your driving a little to suit. If you are at the back of the 'pack' make sure adjust you line and brake markers a little. I nearly took out Gaz last week when i broke earlier at the bus stop when i thought there was going to be an issue in front !

(sorry, this is the only track map i could find)

Alright you lot, SPRINT ROUND this week, so a big change to the first 2 rounds, you will need to have your patience and wits about you to get through a clean race night ! Based on the prac races i have been in, expect some close pack racing, at a super fast pace.

For our new members, PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU READ AND UNDERSTAND THE PROCESS FOR SUNDAYS RACE.

One slight rule change moving forward for all rounds...

    - If you get an in game "JUMP START" penalty you MUST do your drive through in the first 3 laps. Drivers who DONT will receive a flat 20 second penalty to their race time. Please let everyone know of this rule change !

For our new drivers, please have a quick read and understand our track limit and contact rules.

    - If a driver is DSC from Qual, they may get back into the qual room with no issue to set a time.
    - If they CANT get back in before race start, then the room host will restart the RACE room (no qual) and that driver MUST start from REAR OF GRID.

Im not sure will be any advantage given that it takes about 4 laps for all the tyres to come up to temp.

    SPRINT ROUND PROCESS :
    - Qual : 10 mins as normal
    - RACE 1 : 14 laps as normal, HOWEVER no compulsory pit stop required
    - RACE 2 : 15 laps (1 added for the rolling start/ formation lap)
    - The room host will set up room for 15 laps, NO QUAL. At race start, Drivers will wait for Green light, but then form up in reverse order from the results of race 1. IF YOU JUMP START THE ROOM MAY BE RESTARTED BUT THAT DRIVER MUST START REAR OF GRID. Please do this by turn 1. Once formed up, the field will drive single file at approx 120kph (up from the normal 80KPH due to the long and fast final sector) , until the final turn onto the front straight where the race will start. NO OVERLAP / OVERTAKING UNTIL AFTER THE START FINISH LINE
    - POINTS : pole 1 point - FL 1 point - Race 1 full points - Race 2 HALF points. Points are accumulated for both races to get final positions. In the event of equal points, the higher finisher from race 1 will be placed higher.

TURN 1 LAP 1 : This track is FAST ! all drivers will need to be mindful of the run into turns 1 and 2 because if you get it wrong, i guarantee you will be a bowling ball through the pack. If you are mid or back of the pack, please make extra effort to slow into turn 1 and not dive-bomb into the mid pack. Giving room on both sides till you get through turn 1 and 2 before the 3,4,5 esses.....

    - TURN 1 on the left....

    - BACK STRAIGHT KINK... Cars running to the right of the ripple strip will be penalised.
We all know the rules, so drivers are asked to watch for drivers who may be gaining advantage.

CONTACT : Is to be avoided at all times..... If you rear end someone and gain an advantage, YOU ARE EXPECTED to give the spot back. Side by side 'rubbing' is racing, within reason, but all drivers are expected to give racing room.
Main spots are the brake zone into the bustop, and braking into Turn 6.

    COMPULSORY PIT STOP : NO
    - You can adjust the following
    - Brake bias (on the fly with mapped buttons)
    - ABS
    - Traction Control

CAR SET UP : There are 2 options for car sets up that people can make.
'LOOSE' or 'STABLE'. It is up to you what setting you use, and it may vary based on the track being used. I would recommend trying both to see what gives the best lap times.

    PIT ENTRY / EXIT :
You will only need this if serving a penalty. The entry is tricky as the entry is so fast, so be careful if you have someone behind you.

BLUE FLAGS : Please observe blue flags, and move out of the way of faster cars if you are being lapped. Best to get off the race line, and with a small lift let them go, so you can continue the fight with those in your class. Failure to observe blue flags WILL result in a penalty

OK all, good job last week .... Is still a couple of issues we are working through on the protest front.... Hopefully get that finalised today.

    REMINDERS -
    1. QUALIFYING - If you are NOT on a hot lap please make sure you stay out of the way of drivers who are.
    2. DRIVE THROUGHS - IF you receive a false start drive through, you
MUST serve the penalty within 3 laps.

This round we are doing something a little different with the weather, as you would have seen in the PSN chats. Make sure you know how to change your pit strat on the fly, i would suggest that if in divs 2,3,4 you are planning to go all the way to the end on the one set of tyres, your pit strat is set up for NO TYRES. If the random slot at the end of the race DOES RAIN, then you would need to adjust to take wets. Make sure you have the tyre change set to ALL
With 2 random slots in Div 1, we will need to be able to change strat on the fly for both the 2nd and 4th random slot.

For our new drivers, please have a quick read and understand our track limit and contact rules.

Giving room on both sides till you get through the turn 1, 2 but then the big stop will be into the turn 3 hairpin.

    -
The main one here is DEFINITELY turn 1 where its easy to run left of the track.
    - Run off areas, again on the left of track at turns 8 and 11.
Drivers 'INTENTIONALLY' running wide for advantage will be penalised.

CONTACT : Is to be avoided at all times..... If you rear end someone and gain an advantage, YOU ARE EXPECTED to give the spot back. Side by side 'rubbing' is racing, within reason, but all drivers are expected to give racing room.

    COMPULSORY PIT STOP : YES.
    - Up to you if you want to take tyres. If you need a hand to set up your pit strat please let us or your team mates know so we can sort you out. Make sure you have your head around changing the strat on the fly, in case of rain in the random weather slots.

PIT EXIT - Is on the ENTRY to Turn 1, so you need to make sure you stay right when exiting the pit. If drivers exiting the pits are on the right hand side, drivers on a 'racelap' on the left will have right of way into turn 1.

Ok guys and Girls.... Pretty good job again last week.... Is a protest in div 1 we are sorting through, sorry for the delay.
    Reminders from last round
    - Track limits....was tough in the rain, and how slippery it was at Algarve, but all drivers should still be 'attempting' to stay within track limits ;)
    - Make sure you have your pit strategy set up properly for the rain in the last weather slot this week ........ I still think any issues are from people not setting up properly, rather than game issues.....
    - Some guys are struggling to get any practice in, due to work / family commitments. If you can help them out before race start would be appreciated, especially with the wet weather.... You dont need to give them too much, but enough for them to know whats happening.

QUALIFYING - Will be WET ! Fastest laps will be as fast as you can get out of pit lane, so there will be traffic.
    - If you mess your lap up get out of everyones way
    - If someone in front is not as fast as you, but are on 'their HOTLAP' they dont have to get out of the way, so there is still a responsibility to try to find some clear track..... Keep an eye of who is in front of you on track and give as much room as you think you need.

TURN 1 LAP 1 : We have all driven this track enough to know that turn 1 can be a nightmare if mid pack, to the rear of the grid dont slow on lap 1..... Dont be the bowling ball !

    - Exit of turns 1 and 2....
    - Exit of 4, must not continually run to the left of the ripple strip.
    - 10 and 11 chicane, drivers continually cutting will be penalised.

    COMPULSORY PIT STOP : YES.
    - Last weather slot is wet this week, 'probably' the fastest way to go is 1 stop when the rain comes on 'about' lap 22. Make sure you have 'wet' tyres selected to 'all' !

Ok guys and Girls.... Follow ups from last round
    - Track limits....Generally good.... couple of mistakes, but no one found to be cutting for advantage
    - Been a few messages regarding qualifying. Some drivers are recording their Qual now, so if you are found to impede, cut or block you will be penalised if found guilty. If you are on an OUTLAP where other drivers are on their FASTLAP you need to get out of the way. That said, it is also your responsibility to find clear track where possible. If you leave the pits well after the start of qual, or go in during the session, you need to be aware of other drivers as you exit the pits and do your outlap.

For our new drivers, please have a quick read and understand our track limit and contact rules.
    -

QUALIFYING - Back to a dry Qualifying !
    - If someone in front is not as fast as you, but are on 'their HOTLAP' they dont have to get out of the way, so there is still a responsibility to try to find some clear track..... Keep an eye of who is in front of you on track and give as much room as you think you need.
    - If you go to pits to change tyres you need to be careful when rejoining the track.

TURN 1 LAP 1 : This is a little bull ring, and probably the highest chance for lap 1 carnage. Make sure you are aware of staying in your lane till the grid shakes out, the run through turns 1,2,3,3A and 4a will be tough first time round....

    - The big one is turn 4A, the fast kink. Drivers have been penalised there in the past for running wide.... Its a tough corner, stay in track limits !

    COMPULSORY PIT STOP : YES.
    - This track is a tyre killer, so up to you if you take tyres or not.....
    - you WONT NEED FUEL !

PIT EXIT - The exit is right on the exit of turn 1, and run up to turn 2..... Drivers on a race-lap will have right of way, if side by side on the turn in point to turn 2 with someone leaving the pits. Divebombs wont be accepted !

BLUE FLAGS : Please observe blue flags, and move out of the way of faster cars if you are being lapped. Best to get off the race line, and with a small lift let them go, so you can continue the fight with those in your class. Failure to observe blue flags WILL result in a penalty
