Is this proven? We ran mic's in div 2 all last season and every tuesday night. sometimes we have 0 issues, and other nights we have some but it really helps to set up room and announce the goings on
I think that theory is like the only basic answer when someone has horrible net lol and can't figure out who, I can't think of a league race I've done without Mics
Easyprey has retired from this season, I have advised him if he wishes he can still pop in for a race every now and then if he has time.

I have run three seasons with fixed host and no mics without any issues. The main reason for no mics is that it saturates the uplink for fixed hosts. If you are running non-fixed hosts, it doesn't really matter who the host is anyway as traffic is routed through all members. One member with a bad link will cause problems for subsequent members. I'm fine either way, though voice has always been disabled in the official raceonoz settings since season 1.
Ok I didn't know about the fixed host way. When we tried fixed host last season in tests it went horribly. But if it works for your connection then awesome! If you and @emmo46 are confident to run the room this way with no mics then that is fine too.
Please remember to add all racers to your friends list. This accounts for fewer headaches once the season starts. The Meet and Greet will be the best chance to add those whose PSN ID's you are unaware of.
I'm happy to help with room co-captaining if required. I vouch for moon's connection too, all seasons i remember with him as host i can't remember any issues.
If there are to be "no mic's" does this mean the mic cannot turned on at all, or is it simply that talking over mic may be allowed before the race (and certain situations) but no while racing? Will mic's be a no-no for the Meet and Greet too? tks
have you mic ready for whatever the room is set to. If mic's are on, they will be off for the race...meet n greet will probably have them on since it isn't as 'serious'
