And therein lies the rub. For those of who are time poor this season, the turn up and drive option is suboptimal. Thanks for the clarification @Viperzed, you're doing an admirable job as you can't please everybody all of the time. I might try my triple-the-rates drop-the-lap-count trick to see how things might shake out strategy wise. Doesn't always work but you get into the ballaprk.
I agree that with too many options, it disadvantages those of us who are time poor and also moves away from the fun and easy drop in intention of the original Sunday league
It was something I was always considerate of, Another reason as to why I simplified things where possible, Took the major testing out of most of the season. I'd still like to see how this season goes and adjust as required for later in the season or indeed next season. If the last 49 seasons have taught us anything, it's that we never stop learning and we are always offered up the opportunity to benefit from seasons like this.
Thanks for all your work in putting this together Viper, looking forward to seeing how the season plays out.
Question. If I go into car setting in the lobby and select certain tyre type. When I start qually I will have those tyres on. If I do an out lap and pit to change to a different tyre type to complete qually, when the race start’s I assume I will be on the original tyre type. Correct?
If you do not use the qualifying lobby mode then this is correct. Qualifying mode allows you to change tires post quali, before the race begins.
Oh I thought it automatically went from qualifying is over straight into the race.. ok that’s easy then. So no need to have mediums set in settings before then for example.?
Correct. In the new GT7 Quali mode once quali finishes the host then has to start the race by selecting the Start Race option, so you've time to change tyres etc.
Did a 26 lap run tonight on lap 22 the heavens opened up it was monsoonal aquaplaning down the main straight not good at all
My thoughts: those that practice and put in the time may be rewarded. Seems like a good idea to me. And for those (like me) that want to rock up and race with minimal practice, there is still fun to be had up and down the field. You don't need to be winning to have a good race (ask me how I know...)
I think we should look at round two and take off the chance of rain, if you have just started your lap and it start to rain your day is done, you might as well just park it and quit as you have no chance of getting back to the pits. The 24 hour time span will make this race tough enough with out any rain to contend with, anyway just my two cents worth.
This new tire wear rate is going to make things interesting, did a run last night, seems like there will be a few options.
That's the nature of the beast, In real life it catches out some of the best GT3 drivers in the world. I'm interested to see if it affects any rooms at all.
