AC AC Weekly Fun Events!

Practise session was very rewarding, along with Anon666 & DoogleDave we pushed lap after lap of the old Tassy tarmac that is Longford 67, and after some tweaking Anon went sub 2:14 nice 2:13:5 Anon, best I could manage was a 2:14:2.
DoogleDave was in the ballpark too clocking a 2:14:8 if memory serves me.
Also note we will need to do a fuel stop as a full tank gets 20laps, so make sure ya organise ya setup for a pitstop.
Speaking of Pitstops, we can make a pitstop by entering the pitlane, once your in the lane come to a stop, hit "ESC" click on the "return to pits" make changes if necessary, or just hit the "Drive" button and you're done, plant it and you're back in the race can I suggest a few practise pitstops offline, so you can get use to the procedure of pitting before race day seeya there.

LOL, I started to get my braking markers worked out but still managed a few paddock-bashing sessions last night. You only have to shift your concentration just for a moment and before you know it you're out into the open paddocks.

A few tweaks here and there left to do I think but I lowered the aero which made an instant improvement to what I had been running (-1 sec alone). The two places I still lose time are the first chicane under the bridge (if I don't back off I end up in the tress on one side or the other), and the final turn is a killer for me. I either turn too early and smash into the tyres (which stop you dead in your tracks) or the car runs wide and hits the outside barrier. I find I have to slow right down to turn that final corner and then try and get the C6R back up to speed - but at least I've worked out my braking marker for this turn now. Before I would drive past the turn and think to myself "I think I was supposed to turn there"....

Will have to practice the pitstops before Saturday at some point (amongst finishing the Div 3 ROOZ news report AND doing some Nurburg prac for Sunday's final round (of which I have currently done zero practice on)

Aren't they a PITA?!?!?

First time I hit them and stopped dead I thought "huh????", then I realised they've set them to act like a wall to stop you from cutting the corner. Ingenious and frustrating all at the same time.

It's a right that last corner, those tyres are the worst the corner itself is actually about a 65 degree turn so this is why it's quite hard to get it right, and to get it right, you need to slow down to almost a stop, it's definitely a 1st gear job, It's the only corner I have issues with.

Awesome T_Vue no hurry mate, as Tovey said we're still getting to grips with it in some ways ourselves, If things are financially tight then don't stress about the cost's mate, pitch in when you can, not because you feel you have too. Look forward to seeing ya on track soon
