Yeah it is what is said in the GT6 qualifying thread. It would be fair to assume these rules would apply to all official ROOZ races regardless of platform.
    http://raceonoz.com/forums/index.php?threads/racing-rules-regulations.70/
This definition of track limits can be abused in certain sections of track such as the chicanes at monza and zolder but I'm sure specific rules for particular sections of track will be outlined a week in advance of any potential race at these circuits to prevent straightening out of the chicanes. These limits are more than lenient such that repeated exceeding of these limits couldn't be considered as accidental.

Very good point CAGM7. Trouble areas will be addressed the week before an event, if not sooner.

Be great to have you onboard @garyw61 and @Spidey_11

Sorry to be a pain but those regs say 2 wheels 'inside' the ripple strip not on the ripple strip. So which is it because that's a big difference on some corners.

Hmm, so it does. I am positive it used to say 'on or above'.

    Ads, has this been changed?

    Hi all.
Great to see this coming together nicely, am hoping you guys have a cracking season, am looking at joining you after the next GT6 season :D

The NASCAR example is simple, the 'organizers' have agreed cars can run over the ripple strip so they all do it, no problem.

I have looked at the rules and regs and yes, it DID say 'inside' the ripple strip or white line. I have amended it to now say "2 wheels on the ripple strip or white line at all times." This is the ONLY change that has been made to the regs, and TBH, is what we have been running by for the last 10 season or so. Regardless of what definition we run with (inside or on) there will always be some examples where it will change the characteristic of a corner, and how you approach it.

    http://www.raceonoz.com/forums/index.php?threads/racing-rules-regulations.70/

(vii) Cutting corners or chicanes not in accordance with the rules is not allowed, this includes all areas of the race track and will be treated as unfair driving

(viii-i) TRACK LIMITS : Track limits are defined as the ripple strips or the white line that defines the edge of the track. Drivers must have at least 2 wheels on the ripple strip or white line at all times. Any driver who INTENTIONALLY or "CONTINUALLY" runs outside these boundaries to gain an advantage will be penalized. Any penalties handed down will be the result of "conclusive" proof of any breech of the rules.

At the end of the day guys, its not rocket science. we have these rules to try to keep an orderly set up so that everyone is on the same page, is easy to administer and is fair for all competitors. We see in real world racing (take the V8s for example) where drivers get pinged for cutting chicanes, or making passes outside of the track limits. The turn 1 chicane at Adelaide or the back straight chicanes at Surfers are a classic example. They get 3 chances, and if they go outside the boundaries they cop a drive through.

THAT SAID, some tracks throw up grey areas and this is something that we do have to address before rounds on some occasions. An example would be where there might be concrete between the track edge (ripple strip or line) and a concrete barrier. An example we debated over was at Grand Valley (gt6) at turn 12 where you can fit a car between the
track edge and the concrete barrier, but there is no advantage to be gained by running wide there. An area that ISNT grey, are some of the examples i have seen in GT6 and PCARS at Eau Rouge and also the bus stop chicane, where straight lining those corners is a definite penalty where there IS "intent" to gain advantage, or if there is a clear advantage gained against a competitor. An example of that may be straight lining Eau Rouge, making 4 car lengths and then passing the car in front into Les Combes !

We all expect that drivers will make errors during a race, the bottom line though is that once or twice is a mistake, any more and it could be seen as a bad habit ;)

If anyone has any specific areas they want clarification on please let me or the mod team know and we will make a ruling.

Correct. But for the qualification please stay within the lines. Here is Nox's lap, which is just on the limit. Any more than this will be deemed invalid.
