Yeah Daytona will be getting re-scanned cause that's the old bumpy surface but you do have to hold on for dear life huh.

The NASCAR's in GT5 were very unrealistic feeling in my opinion, they just seemed to have way too much grip. By any chance have you done a race at Daytona in the NASCAR yet? Now that my friend is mental.

New Tyre Model Nationwide NASCAR at Daytona in a race..... It was chaotic!

New Tyre Model Nationwide NASCAR at Road America (You can't slide the cars much anymore, they just are so hard to catch now which I believe is more realistic). This video gives you a real look at how smooth you need to be on the New Tyre Model.

The rfactor NASCAR racing was much better than gt5 I think it was the VHR mod.

All this talk about iracing has got me thinking about signing up.

I payed 12 bucks for 3 months. Not sure if that offer still stands though.

Mad, Lol, just watched the nascar videos. No I haven't done any oval races yet. After taking the impala for a spin last night, I was like "Whoaaa!, I might do some more practice in this before I attemp to race". New found respect for oval racing, thats for sure.

Just ordered my rig. Can pick it up on monday hopefully. Kinda good actually, I'm going away friday until Sunday midday and if was here before then it would be hard to drag myself away!

Yea that rFactor VHR mod was pretty good.

Nice Mad. The graphics of iRacing look really nice actually, especially the onboards with the dynamic lighting. The new tyre model sounds good.

Yea the $12 for 3 months is still on offer, or else there's $5 for one month to get you going with PR-FIVEDOLLAR.
I assume your subscription can lapse and when you pay up again you can resume the same account/progress.

How big is the installation download? Will have to grab some of the guys iRacing handles to add some friends. You guys have got a TS server over at TT-R huh. Been having a read of your iRacing and PC Setup threads at TTR to get a heads up on some FFB settings etc. Should be good!

Yeah the VHR mod was not bad, but the iRacing NASCARs are heaps better.

I'd suggest using the $12 for 3 months deal. Also, refer somebody!!!!! Can't stress that enough, if you buy it get someone's email that has it. Because if you refer them they get $10. Every dollar counts! No point wasting it!

The initial download is only a few hundred mb, but then you need to download the cars and tracks. Cars are about 50mb and tracks are about 10mb. If you buy ALL the content it's about 4.3gb off memory.

If any of you get it feel free to ask anyone at TT-R (or just ask me here) for help. The site and sim itself can be confusing at first but it's really easy once you get used to it all. And yes TT-R does have a 10 slot TT-R TS server, but we also go onto a league server "Down Under Gamers - Race League" so you guys are welcome on both (I generally go where the action is ). With a lot of guys looking at getting iRacing that I know of I may need to up the slots on the Teamspeak server to 15-20.

Anyway, looking forward to racing you guys, seems like you're all very fast in this league so should be excellent to see how you guys go on iRacing.

hey you one of the leading drivers in div 1 on the v8 supercar series, the name sounds familiar ? A local lad won the last series Mitch. I watched a race there once and the leader spun on the last corner doing a burn out and lost the lead. The game looks like a lot of fun and cars a bit of a handful at times.
Just got given a hand me down pc and looking into adding the bits i need to make this game work on it. Haven't got the specs on it yet and not computer savvy at all, so when i do i'll put them up here and would appreciate a hint on what i need to replace to get it specked up.

Arr it was you, sorry to high light that lowlight of what was a fantastic run; Brad Kennedy put me onto that clip, everyone felt for you even though it helped Mitch out. Good to see you guys running the v8's around, and how close the racing is between you top guys, its what got me interested and motivated to get into pc gaming. Always been a console gamer never had the money or savvy to go to pc. Mitch brought his set up to a family friends of ours place and they rang me to come have a go but I was away that day. I will defiantly be getting into it one day, just time and money an issue at the moment with a young family and house draining the wallet. Dollar dollar dollar is all i need sing sing lol. Still I think i will always still run in this series on the ps3 great drivers and great races.

Yeah, i'm already so over committed with leagues on iRacing but i'm happy enough to run the odd "Fun run" here and there you could say. Maybe with some guys from here and a few others guys I know we could do one off events or something for a bit of fun.

Dunno how i'm gonna go on iracing hey. I just can't get used to how horrible the graphics are. I'm running it on my laptop connected to my tv, everything on max. It runs nice and smooth and everything but it does make my eyes bleed a tiny bit lol. I may sound a bit shallow puting all my hate into just the visuals, but i reckon for me to enjoy it as a sim it needs to convince me that i'm there, in the car, racing with other cars. After playing GT5 it really isn't doing it for me.

And yeah i just got the stocko $12 for a month. I mean it's $12....i don't care if it was for a week or a year lol.

My name on iRacing is "Madison Down" so if anyone wants to add me feel free.

So you're playing iRacing on Max? Are you sure because the graphics in iRacing are pretty good in my opinion. I actually hate the FPS drops and shadow jaggies that GT5 has compared to iRacing. I'm kind of the opposite to your Chevwah but each to their own. :)

Iracing's strength is its realistic physics and online racing.

graphics wise GT5 wins by a mile in my book but the iracing graphics still look ok.

It just looks so.....dead. It just looks like a very dated engine (which no doubt it is). It's hard to explain. I know the physics and online community is where the draw is at, but its hard to get into it when everything looks so lifeless. I want IMMERSION!

Graphics are not a huge issue for me. Yes I like some standard (which iracing has), but I'll take "Simulation" over fancy graphics, any day of the week. GT5 just lacks Sim. And the gt5 community (public anyway), are mostly knobs, that don't respect others. In iracing, even in the rookie races I'm in, People try and avoid collisions..WOW
