Yeah I'm not in it for an argument but personally I reckon this screenshot looks pretty good. But no question physics for me is where it's at, Graphics are just are a plus for me. I'm always looking for the most realistic sim and for me that is iRacing physics wise. The cars just feel so much more "alive" and realistic. Plus as Carn said the netcode on iRacing is absolutely fantastic, the lag is minimal. And as Beau said the racing standards are fairly high for public racing.... Try and get clean racing on a public GT5 or rfactor server.... Good luck.... But as I said each to their own. :mrgreen:
i guess it's the polish of a game like GT5 which is lacking from iracing. It's something i'll get over though.
if only they could combine the best elements of both games. ill be interested to see how forza 4 turns out physics wise
Well I haven't actually played it yet, but looking at vids and screen shots the iRacing graphics are a bit better than I first thought. That was one of my concerns prompting me to start this thread, don't want to pay all that money and get a great sim that visually looks like it came out even before rFactor 1. But I can see what you mean. Some of the shots are missing that something that grabs you and gives it a 'realistic' edge. You can tell it's a PC screen shot even at first glance. From what I've seen I'm looking forward to it. C'mon Mondaaay! P.S. Thanks for all your input guys.

I'm in the middle of a pretty rough patch in iRacing at the moment. I've had a string of races full of incidents. Some have been my own fault. And way to many have been "pure bad luck". That's Beau, i've had a few moments like that and it just put me right off playing iracing. The other night i was driving the MX-5 in one of the series races. I had the racing line into a corner and some guy charged up the inside of me half on the grass and we had a bit of contact which made him spin off into the wall. He went ballistic on chat saying I need to learn to drive, I said nothing and kept racing. Two laps later i was breaking into turn 1 after the pit straight and that same guy speared into me at full speed and wrecked my race then left. I was pretty fuming after that and didnt play iracing for like 2 days. For a serious racing sim there sure are alot of wits (excuse the french) racing on it. I've seen some pretty low on GT5 open lobbies but nothing compared to iracing in the 2 weeks ive been playing it.
yeah i had the same problem when playing rfactor. there is always a f*#%wit or 2. gt5 is the same if u jump on a public server.
When I've been playing GT5 in an open lobby, a lot of people who join only stay in the room for 5 mins! they always ask me to change something, do this or do that. They can find another room or set up their own if they don't like it haha.
Its the same story with all motorsports, and in this case, sim's. The lower the divisions the more you have to avoid.

Yep, The incident on it's own would have been ok, but it was the icing on the cake following a string of "Safety rating" depleting races. I'm trying to get my C class license. To do that I either have to wait until the next promotion day, or get my SR above 4.0. Atm I'm at about 3.7. I've been as high as 3.83, and then as low as 3.4 again. I think my biggest problem is just racing to much. I haven't slept much.
Looks like that guy ran out of talent and you just happened to be in the wrong place. It is hard work trying to increase your SR whilst being competitive. Hopefully ill get some iracing laps in tonight, have been out of the game for a couple days.
