Gotta say, regardless of the results, that was some of the best nose to tail racing I have had on GT6 period. It's funny how this car seems to feel more balanced when it's damp on Inters than it does dry on softs.
Managed to pull out a pair of 1:17.5s at the end of qualy to start 5th which was better than expected, had a good launch on inters but was promptly swamped shortly afterwards. Just couldn't quite find the grip to brake and turn in when I wanted regardless of wet or dry line, running about a second slower per lap relative to the other IM runners. I felt slow and the race data showed that I was the slowest guy on track, being unable to break the 1:11 barrier in the first stint and generally making some poor driving errors. As the track dried, I took some pain with staying on worn inters before changing onto RS at the end of lap 19. I came back out in 14th and last, some way behind the next pack of cars but felt more comfortable being back on slicks, even if I wasn't anywhere close to PB times. It took another 13 laps before I caught up to 11th and proceeded to make use of my fresher tyres, racking up 6 positions over the final 5 laps. Unsurprisingly the service centre confirmed that the body rigidity had deteriorated, so it's some solace for a 6th place finish (or potentially 4th in final classifications) but still can't help but feel that I should've performed better. Well done to @warrior2167 on another win!
If anyone set their fastest lap on their second set of softs it will be disallowed and the fastest lap on their first set will be recorded in the lap time chart.
I remember back in Season 5 some drivers accidentally put on a second set of softs, but rectified that by pitting again straight after for the correct compound. This doesn't appear to be the case here, though.
thank you for this. @AUSnicko9 @MINT_GTR @Domma Have all accepted the DSQ ruling. They cannot use this round as their drop round and will not have their Fastest Laps counted for the FL point.
If they pitted the very next lap or two to get off the second set of RS then that would be penalty enough.
