I'm going to buy a beige Camry and whack a stonking great V8 in it to create the ultimate sleeper...the looks on the faces of those left in its wake would be worth the obscene cost to complete the project hahaha
Stig , if you want another set of wheel you can have the standard rims off my RX liberty wagon. Have been in boxes in the shed since I swapped them for the B4 BBS rims. No tires on them , are the standard alloys , 5 spoke 16" Stig can have first dibs on them, if he doesn't then if anyone else does just let me know.
Wow, I was only saying today that my car could do with some bigger rims, the 15's look too small on it! I'd love them mate, that would be marvellous!
Will try to get a pic posted up tonight. You should be able to get some rubber for them for about $120 a corner.
Yeah the stock RX rims are a bit undersized, I was lucky with mine, I was able to get a set of factory 17"s off my next door neighbours WRX for bugger all and then unloaded my old 15"s to the guy across the road who had a 98 GX, final cost to me $0'
About 10 years back, we saw an 80ish year model Land Cruiser in the city, stopped at the lights. As soon as the lights went green, he took off, and you could hear the BOV going off like mad! Only after a little while, did we see the WRX that was sitting next to it that was the actual source of the noise haha They were synchronised with their gear changes, and the LC was blocking the view of the WRX so we all thought the LC was a mad ass sleeper hahaha
They actually drag race the turbo patrols and cruisers. The earlier ones that is, 3 door things. They can go really well, and put my brothers stroked 5.9l v8 commy to shame.
A guy I knew when I was growing up has built 'the beast' with his dad. They started off drag racing with the cruiser, beating wrx & evos for laughs. Now they enjoy doing circuit / hill climbs. They raced at 2008 super lap at Oran park in the land cruiser and they weren't last
Who needs syncros anyway?! Especially when you get a complimentary free beer because you look hot after riding to picking up your vehicle from a service!
