The brz is a great introduction into gt6 and our league, for season 2 it's time to step it up so I choose the BMW. The Merc and Mclaren would also be good and then for season 3 probably a road car.

Completely agree. The easier the car is to drive, the harder it is to squeeze out comparative performance.

I'll be choosing the car that's the right amount of 'frisky'.

    I voted for the M3.
A good step up without being too insanely powerful.

I think anyone using controller is going to have a hard time with the Mclaren Getting the corner exits right

Will be doing some testing during the week, so if you see me in a room all lonely feel free to join. Just give me time to get my pants back on...

I'm a controller user myself and the McLaren is quite tough to handle. Having said that, the BRZ in my opinion was also difficult to handle in some cases for me. Corner exits in general are tricky without a wheel

Jeez, the McLaren really bites if you misstep by even an inch. 1% too much throttle when cornering, it's spinning like a top. I'd be happy if it won, because it is so difficult to drive, it'd make for some interesting races, but my vote is for the M3. It's stable, but still twitchy enough for it to slide if you're not careful. The SLS seemed a bit dull to me, and the front end felt reaaally heavy compared to the M3 (Maybe it's just me?)

Hmmm, no. I am pretty sure that if there is no option to choose again offered it is a once only situation. Stu, am I right on this??

    In theory that's right.

However, if you state what you want to change to we can adjust when the final vote count is taken at the end of the poll

I originally voted for the Merc but since its lagging behind so badly in the votes I think racing the Mclaren would make for a fun season so wanted to see if I could change to that.

A wheel would be very nice. However my room is possibly a little too small and weirdly shaped

I started out with a $20 student desk from Kmart and mounted my DFGT to it, it took up little room and was economical, it worked out to be the perfect height for my couch, I would just bring it out and plug it in when I needed it and put it away when done. There are always solutions, even like this one:

Pfft, who needs to spend $100+ on a stand when you can do THIS
    [IMG]
    Elegant as :):):):).
And yes, that is a pug cushion. I saw it an ALDI for $6.99 and had to have it.

I've been practicing in the McLaren, seeing as it seems like it will win, and I think I'm getting the hang of it. Braking is tricky though. If you're like me and don't use ABS, braking is very fiddly. In the BRZ, I could brake pretty much full coming to the turn, and reduce it to about half way to the floor when turning in. With the McLaren, you stick them on 8/10ths of the way and then lift off as you slow down. I haven't figured out trail braking yet, either; locking up everywhere and spinning off the track. Certainly works up a sweat.

Go to the Sim racing Equipment forum page & have a look in the "All Race Wheel and Pedal Modifications" thread at my post on the GTEYE replacement Progressive brake spring, the best cheap mod i've come across,i have it myself & it makes the standard spring seem like a joke!;) It is essentially the same as the ones pictured in the "G27 brake pedal 'feel" thread, but manufactured here in Oz,in Melbourne.
I'd also recommend turning the ABS on to 2 if you want to stop locking & spinning. You may be able to make it work while practicing, but in the heat of battle with a bit of adrenaline running it will bring you undone a lot. The fastest guys in div1 like Mustafar & CyberStig use it set on 2,so it must be the way to go. I've always used it on 3,as i tend to jump on the brakes hard a lot.
That's an interesting "cockpit",lol. Do you have any trouble with it moving??o_O:oops::rolleyes:
