Sorry didnt make it in time for your room last night @Beau_Albert, Was busy with kiddies stuff.

ok guys.....still a way to go with this HOWEVER, after running some of these cars last night some are absolute crackers....all these were driven with tuning ON, however i didnt make any big adjustments so i could feel what they were like straight out of the box. I DID however (along with @v8power383 and some others) make a 1% change to brake ducts so the fuel filled to the default for the car.

Radical SR3 and Formula C ......... BRILLIANT race cars and would be awesome i think for season 3. Minimal adjustment would be required (although CAGME was 2.5 secs faster with a tune in the formula c ;)). Heaps of grip, lots of brakes and very nimble cars. Also had a decent slip stream to help promote passing. Great out of the box, both would work in a non tune series as well. The radical also has lights if we went down the "night Race" path.

    Caterham SP/300R
.......... An open wheeler in the same style as the Radical, however think about the Radical blended with the V8SC ! Felt heavier on the throttle, and under braking than the Radical, but still had loads of grip. Also "think" it has KERS so not sure if it has push to pass ???? Had the electricity symbol in the dash.
V8SC ......... to me feels great, long breaking zones in it with the narrow tires and low down force. Agree that it will be more tune sensitive, rather ironic given the voices that want tuning ;). Sounds great, looks good and as Seth said is generally a sunday night winner with the masses.

Formula Gulf ...... Wasnt a fan TBH. Was very gutless low in the rev range, and was very loose in the rear end. i felt i Almost needed to drive it like a Kart, could probably be tuned out however.
Pagani Zonda R ......... wasnt a fan for the Sunday league. Other than sounding like i had a angry wasp in my headset every time i changed gears, the car tried to kill me on corner entry, exit and in a straight line. In the interest of less members breaking their PS4s i think we keep this one out of the mix ! (sorry V8)

Although i am not a fan of tuning, i do think that with the Radical or Formula C we could run tuning on, wear on real and have a compulsory pit stop. Would need to test that particular scenario, however i think that the wear and fuel levels should provide a little strategy. Both cars use minimal fuel so i don't even think they would need to take on fuel. Also with the rate they use their tires, even the banshees would get through to the end of the race without having to change their tires. Is one of the many things we could debate about "racing" but i digress and may just be in a grumpy mood

As you know, the issue with NON TUNE is the fact that unless the driver makes a change to the car, it will give enough fuel to finish the race, rather than the default amount (90ltrs or whatever). Those on low fuel have an obvious advantage, if they decide to not make a change to the settings to get the default amount.

Anyway, test out the cars above, and throw up any others you want us to try.....remember we are catering for a wide range of driving styles, abilities and hardware so whatever is decided on needs to try to cover those bases for the majority..... i would love to have it narrowed down to 3 cars by the end of the week to get things rolling

Yes I had made a couple changes to the FC but only the basics. Tyre pressures and closing the radiator and brake ducts. If you were running default your front tyres would have been a good 20 degrees too cold and closing the radiator makes 5 kmh difference down the straights.

The FC would require fuel as it can only go 40ish minutes on its small 40 litre tank. The radical could go twice as long.

Had a run the other night with Stu and the Radical gets my vote hands down.
The FC was just too boring and I hated how far you had to turn the wheel on chicanes when the down force was down, I think I will attach a rope to the wheel and run across the room next time.
V8SC while an absolute hoot to drive, would not promote close racing IMO.

The Radical is super sticky until you hit the max, and then you can sometimes pull of some spectacular saves. It stops on a dime and you only have to think about where you want it to turn and it will be there for you. There can be some spectacular racing in this car.

    JUZZY FOR PRESIDENT!

Glad some of you are waking up to smell the Radical roses. I wanted this for season 2, enjoyed the DTM but the Radical would have been - what's the word I'm looking for?

Did a few laps last night. Really didn't like the caterham lmp900, just didn't sit right with me, seemed a little unpredictable under brakes.

I enjoyed the V8SC, but would rather not drive it for s3. I find it very easy to overdrive, and i dont think it promotes good close healthy racing.

The radical was my second favourite. Was great to drive if a little oversteery at times. Something im sure could be tuned out of the car.

My favourite car though, was the formula C. Reallly enjoyed that car, was able to set really consistent lap times and car felt great straight out of the box. In short, i really enjoyed the FC over the radical, but im not going to be to upset if we run with the radical

i ran a few laps with the radical on controller this morning also. felt really good even for a controller, which could also tighten the field with some on wheel and other on controller.

Radical gets my vote for sure.

The FC's issue with chicanes can be fixed by reducing the steering ratio.

Really enjoyed the FC, plenty of power and grip. Radical wasn't bad either but felt I could do 100 laps on the same set of tyres and fuel :p

FC would still get my vote though.

I would say that this has to do with what you have the steering lock set to in the wheel settings. I'd assume you have this set to 900 degrees. Correct me if i'm wrong but in real life open wheelers have only 270-360 degrees of rotation so I wouldn't be surprised if this is PCars trying to mimic reality. Try reducing the amount of rotation then give it another go!

Haha, must be because I was on a controller. It must be pretty poor on a wheel then if it still sucks. Much like the open wheel cars on GT6 at Monaco!

Unfortunately controller vs wheel will always be a big issue. I think the big key thing to remember is the car we choose should be both good to drive on both a wheel and a controller and at the same time still promote decent racing. Hence why I'm still pushing for the FC, I remember the driving the radical a while ago when I was still using a controller and remember that it was far to twitchy, especially under brakes.

unless there are some other cars suggested in the next few days i think these will be the 3 for the first vote.....

Personally, i liked the radical the most, and felt it would give the best series......

The argument of the Radical using far less fuel than the others can be fixed too, PCars does have a Fuel Burn Multiplier and i doubt anyone would complain over that? Tyre wear i can understand though as you have to drive like theres an egg under the right foot.
Just wanted to share this clip of the testing the other night, shows that you can drive the cars many ways. Rather smooth in the opening sector but attacking and throwing the car in the final 2, hopefully making it a greater middle ground for driving styles than the Merc was :)
