Not sure they ment consistently, more like repetitively. To be consistently over the limit of the course of the race isn't possible.
I think RBR will argue their way out of it. He didn't gain an advantage, his car speed was there on Saturday and they didn't have an issue with that.
Not sure though, FIA said on the friday that zero tolerence will be given for those that break the fuel flow limit.
My view is, if a car cuts a corner and doesn't gain an advantage (even though it is a contradiction of the rules) then there is no penalty given. If they do gain an advantage, then a penalty is given. The same principle applies here. I think it is pretty harsh to have a zero tolerance policy when the equipment is giving false or misleading information. It's like being arrested for drink driving when the equipment says you are 0.06 when in fact you are 0.04... Anyway, we'll have to wait and see.
It's funny how we all complained about how the drivers were constantly saving tyres last year, so of course the FIA just has to shoot themselves in the foot by making the focus saving fuel, thus achieving nothing. What a disgrace.
Hey wondering if anyone wants to join a tipping comp Alfa and I created while we were in Melbourne. We had a fair bit of fun with it so we figured we would do it for each race this season. No prizes really, unless I can find something under the couch, just for fun. Post up here if you want to join. There are a few categories and for each correct guess you get 1 point. It won't be easy, and you could possibly get to the end of the season on zero, but no-one's that unlucky?? Will do a bit of a spreadsheet up (might need to call Hat and Emmo in for help??), and prior to race start you need to let us know your tips for winner, FL, 1st car to break down (or single vehicle crash), safety car (what lap - closest gets a point), and who you think will make up the most positions during the race. Happy to add more categories, but it could get a bit clogged up - we originally had 10 for Melbourne.
