I was hoping the Red Bulls wouldn't be as far off the pace as they were... Of any track on the ENTIRE calendar, this should be where the gap is lowest. So there's no chance they will be able to fight for a win until 2015.
The fact that Rosberg got pole under very undiplomatic (or what they referred to as 'ironic') circumstances makes it all the better from a spectators view. Let's be honest: did anyone - other than Hamilton fans - want to see him beat Rosberg on the second attempt? It's far better that Rosberg remains in the championship as long as possible. If Hamilton was on pole, then he's won... so then there'll be no fun as he edges ahead another 7 points. The rather 'un-television disciplined' Alan Jones is so right in everything he says; Rosberg needed to parade the fact that he beat Hamilton (as minor a gap as it was) if he stands any chance in the future. He's cleaned up this race, so he'll take back the championship lead now. I believe we Aussies all love an underdog story.
In other news, I thought the onboard lap we saw of Vettel's was a really great moment. He was pushing damn hard the whole lap, and we saw most of it.
EDIT: So I visited F1 Fanatic, and I laughed my arse off SO HARD after scrolling down and reading the title of this article: http://www.f1fanatic.co.uk/2014/05/23/f1-fanatic-round-2305/
Hilarious! How things change.
