Check other sticky thread in this section :D

Got Top 3 so far, guys times will be accepted if there is no deliberate corner cutting. Obviously the Nurburgring is tough so leniancy will be at my disgretation.

Send in those times, competition has officially started.

Hey all just had a look at the replay i saved of my best lap that i saved as best lap replay and sent in. The time at the top during the replay is the previous lap and at the end of the replay it shows my time of the hot lap on the counter but doesnt allow enough time to see it exactly. So "save best lap replay" isn't the one to use when you get that fast lap. I think you must have to use save replay, not sure. Any way my time was 639.306 and shows up in the title of the replay just not in the replay.
If anyone knows more about saving that lap let us know, i was following the instructions in the how to post time and it said use the "save best lap replay" should it be "save replay" and then you save best lap replay ? Castro can you see the lap time in the title if so you might have to go of that and check the replay ignoring the time at the top, was wondering where you got 652 from I have no saves with that time.

Bonus - keep using 'save best lap replay'
You are correct, the best time displayed during the hotlap is the previous lap.
However, you verify the time in the replay theatre, in GT5 the replay file will display the best time achieved.

After my first session just this morning, I will be submitting a 6:32.714 shortly.
Geez I thought I was pretty good at Nurb. I could shave tenths of that time, maybe MAYBE a second or two, but no way could I shave 10 seconds to compete with Fryz. Not unless there's some magical tuning I'm not aware of. Crazy time fryz, crazy.

Thanks Koaster, I haven't done to many laps and just sent in my first completed lap. I got the first part of the track down but feel slow on the last half and inconsistent. Might be able to get down to a 635 if i can force me self to stick at it, but Fryz's time is insane.

Lines are the key here, plenty of seconds can be gained just by knowing the correct lines and which corners to hug and which you can use up all the track etc as well as maximizing your exits on the corners leading to long straights.

I have done lots of competitive time trial / racing laps around this track so I like to think my knowledge is decent. Im still no Dan Holland but I cant pretend im no good at it. If anybody has a tough section they want explained im willing to give it a crack.

Here is my tune. I can also provide a replay if people request. I know some people like to watch a lap and can get some ideas on lines and things.

    Suspension:
    Ride Height: 30 / -15
    Springs: 13 / 7.5
    Dampers both: 8 / 4
    Roll bar: 5 / 3
    Camber: 2 / 1
    Toe: 0/0

    Gears
Adjust top speed to 360 then
    1st: 3.401
    2nd: 2.051
    3rd: 1.548
    4th: 1.222
    5th: 0.997
    6th: 0.839
    7th: 0.710

Final: 5.143 (pretty sure this is untouched)

LSD is standard 10/20/40 i think

and obviously Full aero add ons with full DF.
No extra weight or balast and I didnt do the rigity modification either.

Anyway have a crack with that and let me know what you guys think.

yeah my replay that i sent in has given the time of a ghost lap too, up on the leaderboard anyway. doesnt it show the proper lap time of the saved lap? hopefully that gets fixed somehow, my time is alot quicker than that 7 15 its showing haha, way off the pace!

A 6'21 is not mucking around!!! You def had skid recovery turned off?? I can't see myself going any quicker than a 6'19 and even then it's gonna take serious effort!

    Nice job mate!

I think that Kastro is seeing the lap time that was previous to the submitted lap.

Cheers fryz I might give your tune a try. I didn't have time to play around with it much and am always a bit unsure of tuning wihtout heaps of testing now with all the alleged 'backwards' settings. GT5 tuning frustrates me and is really starting to put me off the game. Pretty sure my lines are decent, I think your ride height settings could be key to an improvement....I was using 0 / -5 I think.

Very sporting of you to share your tune. ;)

Yea but shouldn't he be verifying it from the email, in the subject line you put your time...

thanks Fryz :) . its not official yet, but thats the replay i sent in so far. i cant see myself going any quicker than a 6 19 either, i know a 6 20 time is doable though, but also hard to do it! skid recovery was off, and track grip was on real, everything else was off like normal, except for abs on 1.

oh, didnt know we had to do that bit. i was following the upload threads instructions, i think i read it all correct and didnt see anything about putting a time in the subject area. i thought next to our names on the leaderboard would be the attatchment of the saved replay, so everyone could transfer it to their usb device, then to their ps3, and be able to watch them if they wanted to, or something similar if that can even be done. even though what i read didnt mention adding your time to the subject area of an email, it seems standard to do something like that

Me too, castro I updated the how to send a replay with the put your "lap time" after your name when renaming the zip file. Great time Jezza1 you on the hard tires? lol just hard to see how i can get down to the 20's so look for faults in the super times. I'll give your tune a try fryz, thanks for the tips, i never done to much on this track and know what you mean about the lines, i can hit it right one lap and loose it the next resulting in full seconds difference.
I would love to see your replay Fryz if thats ok, I'll send you my email. Can you let me know how to get the replay uploaded to my ps3, havent done it before, do you just save it into your GT5 save area and thats it, or is it more complicated?

Instructions for submitting you time, this is how I did it, then there should be no question as to what the time you're submitting is. Same as qualifying for Sunday Divisions.

I might have found some extra motivation. As I'm getting more into iRacing and want to left foot brake the dang post between my shins on my existing cockpit is becoming more intolerable....maybe I can make some hack'n'slash custom modification.
