yep, should be good.. the more racers the better! Its always more fun when you have someone you're battling with.. like the race at Monza between the mclaren and merc. Makes for exciting racing
once we had a few more signups for division 2, I was more inclined to stack division 1 in the event we lose a few, it is normally div 1 we lose them from.
I had been thinking to myself that I would rather be a back marker in Div 1 than stay in Div 2, especially given the thin numbers 1 has had the past 2 seasons
Please be advised, whichever tires you are on when qualifying finishes, is the compound the game starts you on Also OP updated with wear rate and possible weather settings for round 4 & time settings for round 5
So your allowing people to set a qualifying lap on softs then start on mediums? That would allow medium starters to hold up soft starters which would make starts messier than they already are. In the past its been whatever you qually on is what you start on.
If said persons sole aim for the first few laps is to hold up and BLOCK those behind them, is that really in the " ROOZ spirit of FAIR racing " ???
I dont agree with changing tyre compond betwwen qualifying and race, but if you quaify on softs, then change to mediums, that set of softs is your one stint on softs, so u would be stuck on mediums for the whole race. Just a thought
I'm happy with the way it is. It keeps the strategy open without ruining the car with artificial wear. I'm looking forward to seeing how races pan out with all of the variables.
right. Then can we have a rule to limit the max number of time you can start on softs to 3. The way I see it is there's 6 'normal' races. I will probably start on softs in 5 of them. This way it would mix up the field a bit.
That over complicates things for admin to make sure who started on what each time and tally. More work we don't need to do
All you need is a snapshot of the 1st lap together with the one at the finish. and then add in the OP next to the name for when soft were used at the start.
So basically everyone will qualify on softs and the top 3 or 4 qualifiers may start on softs and the rest of the field roll the dice on getting held up behind medium starters. I'm not saying I totally disagree with the concept because it didn't deter people from starting on hards in the dual compound season in the RX7. That season being qualifying tyres determined what you started the race on.(pits closed for qualy) Personally I would prefer the same rules as the RX7 but only because the unknown scares me.
I should explain the theory was basically reversed RH starters in the RX7 would have to pass all RS starters in the back end of the race.
