So from my understanding say theoretically there is a 2 stop race we could go: Qually: Soft. Race: Start soft, medium, soft or is our Qually tyre counted as a race tyre? so then we would have to go Qually: Soft. Race: Start soft, medium medium? I personally think start what you qually on is a better idea and you get ONE set of softs the whole time. It worked well in RX-7 as people could sacrifice Qually, go on harder tyre but then have softs at the end...
From what Hat has said out the back the 3 worthwhile strategies are no stop with mediums, start on softs finish on meds and start on meds and finish on softs. A 2 stopper isn't looking to be worthwhile this season.
One question I have on that, would it be legal to run RM front RS rear for both stints? (Technically 1 set of 4 softs tyres)
"start on meds and finish on softs" @COME_AND_GET_ME7 Would this mean you qually on softs too? Or are Qually tyres not counted as tyres in regs?
Hi guys Plan for tonight is to do a quick run through all of the tracks, and test a qualifying session to make sure we all understand how the tyre regs work. I will be hosting, please send me a FR on PSN if you have not done so yet.
I'll be very quick tonight probably only a few races, but I'll be there *Edit: Very quick as in only there for a tad.... I don't know my pace yet
Updated OP with weather settings Weather: 0% (70% for Round 4) Surface Water at Race Start: 0% Weather Changeability: Fixed (4 for Round 4) What do people think about running other rounds which have weather capabilities with changeability on 4? (meaning it is possible for it to start raining?) Would still start them at 0% weather and surface water
It's something I've wanted since I started sim racing but it was always too universally unpopular to be an option. I say let's do it!
As a man who despises GT's weather system I'd prefer a fixed wet race over one where GT's RNG can send weather from 1-100% in 10 minutes, and from 100 back to 0% in 2. Everyone loves the 'randomness and realness' of weather but GT doesn't really act at all realistically, water doesn't stay on the track after rain, it pretty much always gets to 100% once it moves off 0% implying every rain shower is a Malaysia spec monsoon.
Looking through tonight's meet and greet Suzuka replay, there seems to be a glitch where everyone but me is shown as starting on RS whereas in reality everyone had chosen to start on RM. This may present a problem @Hatfield ... I also noticed that our lap times were unusually fast for RM and that the tyres were being worn down more quickly like they were RS...
